depends on how much you know about wiring.could you put a whole new system in your car?amps speakers everything like that.if so give it a try.if you cant find your fuse box better pay to have it done.you can always ry and bargain with shops.

its easy if you know what you're doing. You DO NOT NEED A BYPASS.. take a DMM to your key and measure the resistance, then go get a resistor that matches and wire it to the small yellow wire in the colum. It will take you a good 4-6hrs if you arent experienced.

Oh you will need the 456G if you want power locks, parking lights, door trigger.etc.

Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with. Use DEI part 555t or 555L. The passlock II wire colors are yellow, black, and red/white (not used). *1 The BCM (Body Control Module) is under the driver side dash. *2 If Directed module part #456G is not available, refer to directfax document #1601. On base model trucks the lock wire is lt. blue (-) and unlock wire is white (-). They are in the lt. blue plug at the BCM. *3 On base model trucks the door trigger wires are in the lt. blue plug at the BCM. On 4dr trucks the LR door trigger is lt. blue/black, and the RR is lt. green/black. They are in the purple plug at the BCM. Use all wires and diode isolate.

I am also looking for some help in this area. I have the DEI 551T and the Universal Alarm Bypass Module #20401. I have not hooked up an alarm in years. I used to be big in the car audio scene, and could probably do it back then. Is there someone locally you might want to help out, or maybe someone could help me walk through it. I see your post with all the wiring colors, is that going to be the same on my car?
I just want to add it to the factory set up.

get rid of your alarm bypasss module and measure your key resistance instead. its 15 cents vs 49.99....
I am not familiar with the 551T, but ill go check that out.

Thanks for the info. Now since I am using the passsenger unlock option to activate the remote start. Which wire on your layout do I cut?

Be sure to add an ignition controlled relay - otherwise the starter will run any time someone pushes the unlock button on the passenger's door (a side effect of using the progressive lock mod). Adding a relay prevents that from happening when the engine is running.

You state two wires here. I was under the assumption that I had to only cut one and tap it into the other one.
