Cut the starter wire under the hood where it exits the underhood junction box just after the factory starter relay. It will be purple. Wire up a SPDT relay normally open to interrupt the circuit. HId the relay under the box. Use a small toggle switch to the ground leg of the relay coil to close the relay when you're starting. You can use a subminiature toggle switch or pushbutton type and mount it anywhere you choose. Behind the rear view mirror, low on the center console in between the passenger seat and console, or my favorite, in the drivers side map pocket just behind the speaker and out of sight.

Don't our cars already have a starter kill system? Isn't that what the chip on the key is for?

You could just switch the VATS wire under the dash. It's an orange wire on mine.
