trans am cd player in a camaro?

Default trans am cd player in a camaro?

i was wondering if i could put a cd player out of a trans am in my camaro. it originally came with the monsoon cd player, i don't know which the trans am has, but just wondering if it will work, thanks.

It will work but there are differences. The Camaro radios are black with black buttons and blue-green display and they have speed controlled volume. The Firebird radios are almost black (charcoal) with gray buttons and red display. They don't have speed controlled volume but they have an equalizer and are wired for a power antenna.

will i still be able to use it in the camaro even though i do not have a power antenna?

Yes, it just provides an extra pin to power the power antenna. The extra pin will not match up with any wires in your Camaro wiring harness so you can just ignore it.

i thought the camaros used 2 ohm speakers and the T/A's used 4 ohm ones....but then again i don't know much about stereo systems

Both the Camaro and T/A use a mix of 2-ohm and 4-ohm speakers. The speakers which run off of the headunit directly are 4-ohm while those that run off of the Monsoon amp are 2-ohm. In any case, Camaro and Firebird head unit configurations are identical except as noted above.
