Default Do new stock GM MP3 players work in 4th gens?

I have seen where Gm has put MP3 CD players in some of their new cars like the Colorado, Aztec, Vibe, etc. Would one of these units fit in our 4th gen F-bodies?

I doubt it. Physically it might fit but the wiring is going to be completely different. The newer headunits have the chimes and other things built into the headunit. I was hoping for a factory type upgrade so I could put XM in the car with a GM head unit but I don't think it'll work.

never thought of that, but i figure if it fits, the wiring cant be that bad to figure out if you just need to give it power and a way to get to the speakers.

They won't physically fit. The newer model GM radios are double DIN but F-bodies are DIN and a half.

I remember seeing a post somewhere where someone put a double-din stereo from a newer Vibe into an fbody, evidently it was one of those head units with the disc changer. Even the sterring wheel controls worked for him. Not sure if it was mp3 though...

EDIT:
It was LT4Vert in this thread:

Yes, it can be done. But, as he said in his post, he had to modify the dash and make his own radio trim bezel.
