Default Autometer gauge questions

I have a autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge and need some ideas on where to mount the sending unit.
I am wondering if I have to put the autometer sending unit in place of the stock one or can I locate it somewhere else? I have the 1/8 NPT adapter just need to get the mechanical sending unit.(bought this off of ebay and they didnt have the sending unit with it.)

I also have the autometer fuel pressure gauge and i have to make a choice either to mount it inside my pillar with the isolator OR I have to mount it outside the car. According to autometer the isolator has to be mounted level with the gauge (which will be impossible since the gauge will be on the a pillar.) Anyone have suggestions or can tell me how they mounted theirs?
