custom box made for a camaro/trans am. how much would this be worth?

custom box made for a camaro/trans am. how much would this be worth? How much would you think this would be worth? i havent seen any of these kinds of boxes on the market.
My local car audio shop tried charing 350 for a box exactly like this for 4 12"s
This guy makes these boxes for 2 15"s, up to 4 12"s 6 10"s sealed, all custom made with 3/4th MDF and he finishes them up with vinyl or carpeting of your choice. He also does Ported enclousures too.

big boxes...sh*t....
$350 is honestly a decent price carpeted and all, IMO. Then again....I don't know average shop rates for boxes..
most importantly -- WHY 4 12"s??? or 6 10"s in a Camaro!??!

$350 is a little high to me. I'd say it is worth about $275.
Nice box, I've seen a few of those in f-bodies before. Not my taste personally, but whatever blows wind up your skirt

if i was gonna have someone build a box for me (although i wouldn't....i'd build my own), i'd definitely have the shop i bought the subs from build it for me. they will know the specs of the speakers better than "some guy who builds speaker boxes" and will build it appropriately to those specs...assuming it was a nice shop, and not Best Buy/Circuit City/etc.
but then again, a while back, a guy i used to work with said that one of his friends had a box for two 12" Kicker Solobarics (the original round ones) built by the shop he bought them from....they charged him something like $350 - $375 for it (on TOP of the price of the subs), and the box literally blew apart after two days.
so i offered to build him a box if he could get me the documentation on the subs. i built him a box that you could literally jump up & down on and it would stay together. he said that it also hit a lot harder than the "professional box" (and i use that term VERY loosely) that the audio shop built for him, too...i made $75 out of the deal for a few hours' work...not too shabby. i would have probably charged more if it was anything other than a standard rectangular box, tho....when you start getting into anything other than 90-degree angles, it's a bit more difficult to get everything to line up right and look good.

As long as the box is sealed....anyone should be able to make it properly as long as they use the proper air space and don't have some really f'd up design. Ported, etc. is a diff story, obviously.
I just realized though that the box does not have separate chambers for each individual sub (based on the INSTALLED pic, not just the empty box pic). With a box that big, the additional strength I think would be necessary..

Seperate chambers don't matter as much as everyone thinks they do. Yes, they add bracing, but thats about it. You can add bracing in easier ways without having to worry if each speaker has exactly the same amount of air space. And looking at that box, with the part that dips down in the trunk, you won't have equal air space for all 4 12s if you make 4 chambers.
By the way, if that box fits six 10s, it should fit four 15s... hmmmmm... interesting... hehe

correct its not the seperate chambers more the bracing. i had a box for 2 15s that i rushed through to finish no bracing and had all sorts of flexing one piece of wood fixed 90% of the flexing

If he's building a box for 4 subs make sure you have each sub in its own chamber incase you ever have one blow then you won't have problems with the other subs.
If your good with math you can make all 4 subs have the same size chamber I have built plenty of them
