Default AMP SUGGESTIONS FOR 2 12" ALPINE TYPE R

So I've narrowed it down to either the Hifonics Bxi 1606D or Lanzar OPTI1400D

The Subs are 4ohm DVC rated at 500RMS and 1500W PEAK each.

Anyone have/seen any of these series of amps? There both about the same price with the Hifonics pushing more power and has the LED Blue Logo

personally i wouldnt do either of them. but if you had to pick between them i would say go with the Hifonics if it is 1 ohm stable. wire the pair in a parallel and give the amp a 1 ohm load.

Alpine subs go with a Alpine amp... I would say the 500 watt class D version would work just fine.

Alpine amps are expensive.

From those two choices I'd get the hifonics.

I have the Kicker IX1302. Friggin thing blows everything I hook up to it. So damn underrated it's not funny. 2x1000w and 2x400X Thumps when poof in minutes. I shoulda known what those two young kids who sold me the thing were snickering about. Want power? Get a Kicker. F'n ear-bleeders is what they are.

You do not have to match up the brands. That's bad advice. Also, don't get an Alpine amp. They are ok, but are way too expensive. I've heard good things about Hifonics for the money so you could go with that one...

This is how you wire up the subs...if you didn't know already.

If you want a great amp...you'll buy this!

I hope you find this post in time, cuz you'll be hard pressed to find a better amp made by a better company at this price. Memphis rocks

How is that bad advice.. Sorry i think it looks stupid to have Alpine subs with a Sony amp. and some people run 2 different brand amps. I understand it doesnt sound any better. It gives a better look IMO, like you planned it out better. And at the end of the day you are talking a few more bucks to make it look uniformed and its worth it.

I agree with going with Memphis. My whole system is Memphis except for the head unit. Have had Memphis stuff since i got out of high school in 99' and every amp, speaker, sub i have had sounded great and lasted until i sold it. Never blew anything. This encludes a 149db system that i used to db drag. Great stuff!!

Matching Alpine is fine for Alpine if you want to spend the money. Their PDX line of amps is awesome.

Personally, I'm not an amp matcher. Brand consistency is kind of silly to me, being that people who make very nice amps don't make very nice speakers (or even make speakers at all) and vice versa. Ususally companies are only good at one thing, whether it be amps, head units, speakers, whatever. This does apply to Alpine too.

The Memphis amp suggested is nice, but the reserve was not met on that auction, so who knows how much the guy wanted The cheapest I could find from an online vendor is $430.

I was going to change the wording on that but never did. I put bad advice because it gives people the impression that you have to match brands. When it really doesn't matter and thats what I meant. No harmed feelings...

Those are sick amps but a little out of my price range new.

Right now I'm really leaning towards the Cadence TXA-1000D. There going for $200 shipped with a 2 year warranty on summer blowout. Now I'm trying to figure out a box for two 10's.

It'll be definitely hard trying to find an amp with that kind of output at that price.

...either you are using the wrong subs for the application, the wrong application for the subs, installing/wiring incorrectly, or setting your gains improperly.

underrated -- yea, at 14.4 volts.. they don't make all that power in your average car -- I'm thinking you're blowing subs because your gains are set improperly..
