Default Will this key fob from a 97 Z work on my 98 SS?

My 98 SS didn't come with it's key fobs when I bought it so I'm wanting to get one. I checked the RPO codes and it is supposed to have the 4 button keyless entry. I found 2 key fobs from a 97 Z with the number GM 16207901-5 and fcc AB01502T. By looking on here I need a GM 16245100-29. That's what my 98 Z has for it. I am wondering if the one from the 97 Z will work. I googled the number and it looks like it is only good for 96&97 models. Any help is appreciated.

The parts catalog shows all 96-02 Camaros use the same key fob part number (regardless of what's molded into the fob itself) so it should work fine.

96-02 had the same key fob. 95 and down (I'm not sure what years below had one, my '95 had keyless entry) had the boxy ***-looking ones.

The same way - the matching process does not require you to have a working key fob to start with.
