Mine are on the underside of the rearview mirror on my 98.

Odd that they tell you nothing in the manual about interior bulbs, almost like they don't expect you to ever replace them.

Theres got to be a wire! It runs to the top of headliner and then to the driver side pillar, down to the door ajar switch. Unless it didn't come with that option and someone put there one rear view mirror with map lights?

Maybe your lights don't work because there are no wires!

There are actually three wires going to the rear view mirror: white, black, and dark blue with white. The dark blue with white wire provides power from the BCM via the COURTESY fuse until the BCM goes to sleep about ten minutes after the ignition is switched off (battery rundown protection). The white wire provides ground through the BCM for the courtesy lights. The ground diminishes to provide the theater dimming effect. The black wire provides a direct chassis ground for when the map light switch is pressed.

The bulbs are #212-2.

Thats why I was confused by the OP...I was like "I thought they were all in the mirrors in these cars"...you sure the wires aren't held inside of some protection that is tight to the windshield or something...so you might think it's part of how the mirror is mounted when it really is the wires? The mirrors mounting is solely the glue holding the little metal pellet to the glass and then the mirror has a set screw to hold it to the pellet.

Ok you know what. Screw you guys haha. I went to take pics of the mirror and I was sittin there taking pics going what a bunch of weirdos... cmon, they should know I am serious when I say there isnt a wire!

So i take a few pics, look at the back of the thing and Im like awe ****, I see the little plug.

So I dig into the headliner and find the wire, plug it in and it works.

I am done here, thanks for the help you guys
