Default 03 cavalier dash

my friend has a 2003 cavalier, nothing on the dash works, no speedo, tach, fuel or temp gauges, could it just be a bad ground somewhere or a fuse/relay?

My guess would be a fuse of some sort for that many things to be wrong at the same time.

is there a main fuse or like sending unit for the entire gauge cluster? or would it be separate for each individual gauge?

There are two fuses that affect the instrument cluster in that model. Fuse #16 is labeled CLSTR and fuse #3 is labeled BCM/CLU. Use a fuse tester or replace with a known good fuse because fuses can often look fine even when they're blown.
