Red face help guys with my benz!!! please!!

hey guys i need your help with my benz!
im wanting to replace the stereo in it and i need some help and advise.
the car is an 2003 E500 with the logic 7 harmon kardon stereo in it.
i have a memphis belle 1300 mcd 5 channel,2 mb quart componet sets and a memphis m1 sub.i have this stiff from my camaro that im turning in to a race car so i dont need a big stereo in it.
the problem is with the benz the main head unit in the dash is connected to the factory amps in the trunk with fiber optic cable then from the amps the the speakers it just regular speaker wire. im almost certain i need a jl audio clean sweep so i guess ill need to leave the factory amp connected and run the clean sweep after the amp. can any one give me and advise or help?.
i live in ne alabama and i called a few shops asking if the work on higher end cars and they say they do but they want me to bring the car to them to look at it and i dont really want to have my car tooken apart just to have em look at the wireing and not have my car put back together right. a high end shop that has worked on a few mercedes will know what needs to be done so thats what leads me to beleve they dont know what to do!.
help me out guys.

What exactly are you looking to replace?

When you say fiberoptic, it probably means optical S/PDIF, for which aftermarket equipment does exist, should you want to keep the stock HU. Alpine has some IIRC.

basically you have to leave the stock amp in and tap in after that, now do you need a cleansweep or just a regular loc i dont know, id assuem there is some equalization done in that amp.

it is actual fiberoptic cable and from what i read on the mercedes forums there is no aftermarket adapters made. all i want to keep is the stock hu. keep em coming and thanks.

If it's S/PDIF, then yes, aftermarket equipment exists for it.
