Default Wire Indiglo Gauges to the Dimmer?

I am installing a set of indiglo gauges. Most instruction I have seem on here say to connect the red wire from the gauges to the brown wire, and the black wire to the black wire, on the back of the headlight switch. The only problem with this is that when you dim the interior lights, the gauge lights stay bright. I noticed the dimmer right next to the headlight switch has a brown and black wire as well. Can I wire the gauges into the dimmer switch instead, so the dim with the rest of the interior lights, or will they stay on all the time?
Thanks!

they should dim when you hook it up to the dimmer... thats what i did with my gauges so they can all dim at the same time!
