Default Detailed remote start install

Does anyone have one really? I looked through dozens of previous posts but only found this with helpfull infohttp://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/alarm96up4.htm

Which helps me with about 50% of the install.

I decided to go with the Prestige 997a remote start LCD alarm.

If I can not find more info, I will have to tear into it blind a bit.

I know it does not make too big of a difference but my car is a 1998 z28 with a4.

It covers nothing on remote start itself. I know it is fairly straight forward, but. . . . . .

****, about 12 hours of labor and it is all done. I will make a complete how to on this with pictures.

This was not a nightmare job. But, it was a bit rough. If I had to do another one it would propably take me about 2 hours to do, including soldering the wires.

Great writeup. I have a prestige alarm system on my car with a remote start button on the key fob. I just don't have the remote start system. I need to figure out which one I need to get

The OEM alarm really sucks as a alarm. But, it has everything I want in it(remote start, trunk pop, remote door locks and a shock sensor). But, it is way weaK as a alarm. So, I bypassed my VATS and installed a switch that turns the VATS on and off. So when it is off there is no way to start the car unless you find the switch. If you find the switch, well, you won't find it.
