I'm a little embarassed at my first loss... Ok so I'm out of class (finally) today, and getting off campus. I'm at a light in a left turn only lane, and I see this ****** in a Mercedes Benz SLK 320 come next to me in the RIGHT TURN ONLY lane and put on his left signal. So I'm like, "no way this bastard is passing me"... so the light turns green, I cut the turn real sharp, then rip it, get a decent first gear downshift but it's too late, by the time it downshifted he was already in front of me and I had to let off because the lanes had merged.
SLK 320 - 215 hp, 3000 lbs =
I know there's probably a million reasons for my loss. A race is a race, a death is a death, so I posted it. I won't make excuses. It does hurt being beaten by an ******* in a slow car, though.
And I'm absolutely sure it was the SLK320, I paid close attention to the badges. No AMG badge was there.
I'm really itching for those suspension mods now.

Re: I'm a little embarassed at my first loss... Mercedes car's aren't designed for the 1/4 mile, they are built with good suspension and all. So even if you want to call it a race he only beat you because he out handled you. Not to mention German engineering is excellent, I've seen their car's take out cars with 50 more hp and they pulled about a bus length on them.
Not fair to beat yourself up over that.

That's not a race. I give you props for the honesty but if that were the case I'd race about 8 times a day in Metro D.C. traffic. Be safe and don't sweat the small stuff.
