Ran a C6 Z06 today...

Ran a C6 Z06 today... My GF's dad brought his Z down this weekend... so we decided to go out and have a little fun...
2 runs... rolling start about 15 mph... 3 horn honks...
1st Run: I pulled on him pretty hard in the beginning (a car length or two)... right around 80 he missed 3rd so we shut down...
2nd Run: Same thing in the beginning... this time he hit 3rd though... around 80 he made up the distance that I pulled on him pretty fast and started to catch up pretty quickly. Again we shut down around 90-100...
nothing crazy... just two short little runs... lots of cops out today and we almost got pulled over like 3 different times. But it was fun... and in the end I was pretty proud that I pulled on him so hard in the beginning...
we later pulled into a gas station and chatted about it... I was telling him how happy I was that I pulled so hard and wasn't expecting it...
that's when he said "well, what gear were you in?" I said "1st".... "what about you?" he then says "oh... I was in 2nd, I can't start in 1st the tires go nuts" my happiness turned to humility quite fast...
he then told me that my tires were spinning like crazy when I was pulling though, so apparently I wasn't getting any traction... so that made me feel a little better...
gonna take the TA and the Z up to Sedona/Flagstaff tomorrow for a little cruise... should be good times

Oh man you gotta let the GF's dad win! It's just good politics. Haha. Anyways nice runs. Your car is put together right, from the engine to the exterior. You have good taste...

A roll in 2nd @ 15mph is way to long for a z06. 2nd goes to 91mph. Next time, tell him to leave TC FULL ON and start in first. Don't go 100% WOT, but squeeze the throttle, then go 100% WOT in 2nd. He should have some full cuts but still have enough forward momentum to atleast be door to door with you.

Thats cool man. i know that area kinda. i remember going down the speed world or whatever it is in that area. takes a while to get there from tempe as far as i remember....

If I can spin in 1st at 35mph, on a cool day the C6Z would smoke'em bad.
