Default 96 Camaro vs 03 Stang GT

I raced my managers 2003 Mustang GT convertible with a catback from a light one day after work. He got the jump on me at the light because it went green mid rev and I didn't want to dump the clutch and wheel hop. I caught him by the top of 1st and by the time I hit 3rd he was about 2.5 cars behind. I was in a 96 Camaro M6 Longtubes, ORY, Catback, and intake.

It was an auto but he got an immediate 1-1.5 car jump off the line. Thats what I get for not paying attention.

I could have sworn I had responded to this already, but I guess not... Anyway, this isn't really surprising at all because an automatic convertible GT with just a catback exhaust is a low-mid 14s car on a good day, and a bolt-on M6 LT1 F-body is a mid 13s car. So there's a good half-second difference in the 1/4 mile. Good kill OP

yea this is an obvious win, if he has long tubes as well and is racing an auto vert he should walk a decent amount.

ok hate to beat a dead horse but this has been gone over quiet a few times, i'd say they are low to maybe mid 13 varying on driver.

Depends on how many bolt-ons we're talking too. If you want to get deeper into bolt-ons, like gears, RR's, tune, etc., then a mid-low 13 is pretty ****-poor.

Drop some weight and you might get lucky like Shon Herron, or 1slowformula and be running 11's in a bolt-on LT1. lol

Haha. Yeah, I know. It's still really hard to believe that a bolt-on LT1 has gone 11.5. But, with a race weight of 28XX lbs, with probably somewhere around 320-330rwhp(maybe less, since it's a stalled auto with a heavier rearend), what do you expect? Shon was still able to pull out an 11.8 with an M6, and raceweight of around 31XX, I believe.
