pull up next to me on the highway in light traffic i was thinking please god give me a run...AC Expressway turns from 2 into 3 lanes and we make our way to the front of the little traffic "pack" and i slow to about 50 to get into my 2nd gear powerband and before i could even downshift he stomps...the little ****** jumped out hard, 1, maybe 1.5 lengths...i get into second quick and stop his pull and all the way to the top of second thats all i was doing, hit 3rd, gain about 1/2 a car to the top of 3rd...hit 4th at ~110 with my nose at his rear bumper, thats when i really started pulling back hard and by 130 i was out in front by almost a full car and shut down. good times.

the M coupe actually has the 3.2L and its not V6 its inline 6 there buddy. and tis 330 horse stock, i'd say on the highway it would be a decent run if the old dude knew how to drive a little better, those cars revv to 8 grand!

I guess a twin-turbo inline 6 supra paired to a 6 speed with 320hp and 320lb-ft tq and runs a super low 13s stock is not very impressive either. To the op, good killish. Sounds like it should have been a close run, I don't know alot about them, but from what everyone is saying it should come down to driver error. BTW, I dig supras.

Great kill! I ran into one of those once but once I blasted by him quick and then slowed up he wouldn't look over.
Those M Coupes run high 13s to low 14s with an average driver from what I've seen and maybe mid 13s with a really good driver. Traps in the 102-103 range. Actually, they run VERY similar to a bone stock G8 GT except the G8 is an auto, so you just put your foot to the floor and go.
At 3,250 lbs and rated 330hp and 262tq, they're very similar to a C5 Vette only with a bit less power and a lot less torque. I would imagine with his tune, the OP is trapping 105-106 anyways. And from my experience driving and running my brother's G8, they REALLY shine once they hit triple digit speeds, which surprised me, so I'm not at all surprised he pulled like he did once they really go moving.
Again, this is all just what I've seen. Maybe someone else has seen something different.

they are a pretty nice little car, and i'm sure with a tune, maybe a CAI, and a decent driver who knows how to drive the car, the car should be considerably closer to the G8.
but i do love those G8's in the torch orange red whatever the color is

I think what he was trying to say is that if it's not impressive that the tuned G8 edged out the M Roadster then a TT Supra must not be impressive either since the outcome would be very similar. He was being sarcastic, lol.
