Default Few races last night in my h/c ls1

my setup, h/c z28 420hp 390tq, stock rear m6.

First race, from a stop, 300c srt8 boltons 125 shot
He got my out of the hole slightly, i bogged it down to 2k and had to play catchup passed him by a hair at the top of 3rd gear.

2nd race 03-04 cobra, unknown mods, likely all stock
launched out on him hard, gave up in 2nd gear with a bus legnth

3rd race, from a 2nd gear 50mph roll, racing the 300c and a LS2 gto, likely on some spray. GTO gets the jump, i follow suit, 300c went into the rear view quickly, and the beginning or middle of 4th i begin to pass the gto.

4th race, geared up 4;30 9 inch stock ss that makes 350 to the wheels. Launched out on me hard, passed him barely at the top of 3rd gear. Closest race by far.

that is all

what do you have? I still have stock gears which is limiting me majorly. I will put some 4:10s in soon.

nah havent tracked it. With stock gears i'd guess i'd run a low 12 MAYBE high 11. Im still on the 10 bolt. I need a 9 inch soon. The cold weather really helps keep my 10 bolt living because 555r 315's dont hook that great and have a nice amount of spin to them.

Yea there is only so much you can do on the 10 bolt and nittos. Trust me i know

But i'd rather keep my rear alive than get a good time slip

Yep me too, thats why I havent tracked her yet. I still want some 4:10s even though she'll break soon. And once she does i'll be paying off a 9 inch for quite some time.

Why would the SRT 8 with a 125 shot be "out of his league"? That car is capable of high 11s.

Correct -- that 125 shot on top of an already strong setup should make for a pretty quick combo. If the owner could find a way to drop 400 lbs from that car, it would be really tough on the street!

To the OP -- great runs! I wish I could find that kind of action around here.

Love the 4.30 geared 350whp guy... it's not all about hp #'s.. driving skill, tires and gearing trumps whp (most times) from a dig.

I should also add suspension setup to that equation.

That's why all the little pups around here with their 300whp 2200lb civics keep begging me to roll race them lol.
