had a surprise yesterday so me and my buddy drove over to bremerton wa, about 4 hours from where we live, to have his slightly modded '03 cobra put on a dyno and to get a tune up. on the car ended up putting down 456 hp and 471 tq to the wheels. so its not too bad
so after we leave the shop, we start heading home. as we started getting close to tacoma we started running into some heavy traffic. i noticed a little ways ahead of us that there was a white Evo that was eventually going to be merging into our lane. so my buddy lets the evo get in front of us. traffic was slowed down to about 5-10 mph so when the evo was pulling in front of us, we hear the evo and right away we both knew it was all cammed out and stuff from the lope it had. he followed us for about 15 miles or so before we found an open spot on the interstate. the evo pulls up next to us and the guy looks over at us and gives a nod. he then downshifts and when he honked the third time, we took off. the evo took us by a probably 4 or 5 cars from about a 45 mph roll in 3rd. both of us were like HOLY ****, that little car had some nuts on it. it sounded like a friggin jet taking off just from the turbo. so we catch up to him and my friend looks over at him smiling and saying ''what the **** is in that thing?" he just kinda smiled and gave us an approved nod. my friend montions for one more race and this time we took off from maybe a 30 roll in 2nd. the evo ended up handing us our *** by about 7 or so cars.
we didnt get to talk to the guy or anything but we both just gave each other a thumbs up and he took his exit. i live in a small town thats over run by a lot of imports but none of them are a problem for me and in my TA and especially my friend in his cobra, until that one. just thought i'd share that with everyone

first time i took mine to the track, 1/8th mile track. i saw HEAVILY moded Evo with nos go against a modded Z06 with nos... at first both cars purge and im like, **** the vette got this ****... then, as they stage, the Evo revs up redlining it.. ive never heard such a loud/exciting/bouning/jet sounding rev in my life... sounded like 14 jets were flying over us....well, they took off, obviously the Evo takes about 2-3 car lenghts, but the z06 reals him in and won...coolest thing i have ever seen when it comes to racing

my buddy owns a shop in massachusetts, he specializes in dsm's and evos, those little things haul *** if you spend a little coin. he has one that just broke into the 9's with basically a stock engine,besides some cams. it ran a 9.98@142. crazy little cars. not very reliable but they haul ***

What's the deal with these little frigg'n Evo's? I hate getting handled by shitty little compact cars...Pisses me off everytime...Turbo'd Honda's especially... Dr

The deal is they respond to mods just like any other FI car, which is to say GREAT. Some injectors, exhaust, intake, and a little tuning goes a long way. Start going for the big $$ items like this guy had and you have a 10 second car in no time. I wouldn't consider them shitty, in the way that thier build quality far surpasses the f-body.

Smaller motors have a tendancy to break down faster under big boosted horse power, unlike an F-body with an LS motor sporting the same power..... Smaller motors wear out faster when introducing to Nitrous too... Larger liter motors typically possess greater torque, sound better, can move bigger and heavier cars just fast....
Give me the LSx motor all day long over a built up four banger..
When comparing a little Honda or EVo to a Corvette it's kinda like comparing a motorcycle to the Honda or Evo... Smaller and lighter will go fast for sure but what are you giving up to get the speed?..
