Default just raced my friends new evo 8

my first thoughts were 'he is definitely going to beat me.' lol

first race was from a dig, and my launch was **** cuz im still getting the whole 'slipping the clutch' thing down, (yea, im a bit of a newb) so he pretty much destroyed me.

2nd race was from a 30 roll, and i did a hell of alot better, he still pulled me by about half a car length though and we let off around 80

3rd race was from 60 and by the time we hit 120 i had him by about a car length

so for now we agree hes just a bit quicker then me, but im going to work on my launches and hes gonna get used to the new car, and well rematch later and see what happens.

it still amazes me the cars that i keep up with though. hes paying over 5 times as much as i payed for my bird, and hes only a little quicker then me.

another example; i raced an rx-8 about a year ago, guy had dumped around 10k into it, and he was boosting around 10lbs i think he said. on top of that he paid prolly around 20k just for the car. i thought the guy was going to pummel me! (this was my first time racing, ever btw.) he pulled me by half a car length on the launch, and we stayed dead even till about 100 or so and let off.

cant wait to get into an ls1 ta. but making 735 an hour doesnt pay the bills well enough for me to be able to have one yet

Good runs. And we were all at that point one time or another.
When you do finally get an LS1 or whatever, you'll appreciate it that much more.

I remember being there when I first got my car. I wouldn't have even gotten it if it wasn't for my girlfriend - she loaned me about $2100 to get the car. I had a terrible paying job working in the deli at a grocery store. Then I did some job searching and I finally have money! I'm working full time at an Amazon.com warehouse paying $12.00/hr. Just look in the paper or on the internet for a warehouse job. They usually pay pretty well and I love working where I work.

^Haha nice. Try to find internet sites that your state gov set up. I've had quite a few interviews because they had a resume format setup that was easier than takin a ****. And 7.35? You workin at a mom and pop?

LS1s are getting dirt cheap...I had an LT1 for 12K right after I graduated (and my parents make less than I do so they didn't help haha)..

I cut my teeth on the LT1 and small mods go a LONG ways.. . pick up some used headers (I got my coated shortys for 150.00) and you will give LS1s a good run any day of the week.

Well, if you work on it little by little eventually you will build an amazing car. And if you learn to work on all your own stuff then u can save more money towards the parts.

nice run. I've been there and the local plumbers union here pay pretty low copared to other places but I believe it's like 15.00 a hour to start when you join theie school. check it out. I promise you will have a LS1 soon after that.

The only difference is that even 2v Mustang owners hate 2v's
