Default Honda Civic Vs S10 350

I've seen this guy hot rod around alot, spinning the tires and all that good stuff. We work together a this T-Mobile Call center. So I sent him an Email today since I drove my S-10 to work. The guys is a really nice guy. Its a B16 honda Civic, Very very clean, not all riced out, Its lowered on nice looking 17" rims and a quiet exhaust.

This is what is done to his car. Exact words, i copy and pasted it from my Email

" wussup, for the looks the car is shaved all the way around and debadged, lowered about 2.5 inches, obviously the 17's then under the hood is a jdm B16A with headers hi flow cat and apexi ws2 exhaust, Im thinking of turboing her this summer but idk yet. "

I asked him if he was up for a race, He was thinking his car was in the low 13's (Go figure....) My truck, the way it sits right now runs 12.9's over and over agian. I take a break and show him my truck, he's like that is sweet dude, "You wanna run them?" I said sure. So we head down the street to an open two lane road. He asked if I wanted to go from a dig, I said sure why not.

We line up and do the 3 honk and I hammer it out since I have my street slicks on and I see him spin bad. I slam into 2nd gear and I was a good 10 cars plus on him and I shut down thinking he stopped due to the spinning.

He catches up and asked if we can do a 15 roll so he wont spin, We line up and he honks it off and I left him like he was standing still. hit third gear at about 90 and shut it down. the gap was way to big to put a number to it lol. I

I pull off the road and so does he, he was impressed he said and said he wants a V8 lol. We decide to do one more roll start lol. this time I told him he could have 4 cars. He put his hand out of the window and counted to three and we were off. As you can guess I fly past him and headed back to work.

The dude is a pretty cool and didnt come up with any Ricer reasons.

Sorry for the long post, Just wanted to tell eeveryone I wasted gas on a slow car agian haha. Up in Idaho you take the races you can get.

Good run, but I think he is WAY off of his ET estimate. That is probably a low 14s car realistically.

Yeah, He was way off but we got back to work he was thinking maye high 14's and low 15's lol. I don't want to ad this to a win since, a 12.9 vs 15.1 is really not even fair haha.

Hes setting me up a race with an STI.. I'm hope my new motor will be done haha. Fresh 355 with near 425 HP and a 125 shot of Juice.

I'll snap some pictures of his car. I really don't like the way a civic looks but, I like how clean and simple this one is. very very clean.

If he can drive at all I can guarantee it'll be quicker than high 14s/low 15s. My stock Integra GS-R ran a 14.97, so that same power (actually a little bit more) in a lighter Civic should be good for atleast mid 14s.

But isn't the altitude and density in Idaho a little different than Texas? I figured that it would be, I know that here in Indiana that guy would run about a 14.9-15.3...I could be wrong though, I don't know much about JDM motors.

I thought a b18c1 would make more power than a light bolt on b16? But the weight difference does help I guess. All I know is, my friends b16 ran a 16.1. I think 4-5k DA that day. I can try to do the corrections later today lol.

Yea, there are ways to calculate it. If you have any of your track slips on you, whenever you have a chance, go to this link, and enter the info. They have a nice way of doing the conversions to see what you would run at, at 0 DA.

B18C1 is 170hp, B16a1 is 160hp. Header/testpipe/exhaust should be good enough to atleast make up the power deficit.

So apparently the DA for that 14.97 run of mine was -82ft, but my corrected time was a 14.94.

Weird...neg DA, and your corrected time was actually slower. IDK...I think 60' has something to do with your real time..but...I don't have time to think up a logicall explination. I know for me though, it helps. The track I go to is 3075 elevation..let alone the other factors. DA from my first time at the track was 5744. So my best run of 14.1 (2.3 60') at 102, comes out too 13.089 at 109 mph. Cutout and lid. If only I had traction, and good air out here lol.

Well the weird part is that my corrected time was faster (14.94 vs 14.97), but the DA at the time of the run was negative. So why would there be a correction making the time faster?

Couldn't tell you. lol. Unless the track elevation itself is very low, and even with the DA being negative, factoring out the humidety made the correction faster?? I haven't any idea on that one. Or you put the wrong values in.... I did that before. Put the humidety % in the wrong place. Gave me like a -800 DA, for a 3075' track.

Yea, but where you actually enter in the amount given, I put in two variables vise versa, thus screwing my **** up. IDK man..Texas is weird I guess

Ugh, checked out the time slip.. Well you see Spokane Raceway park is a low in track... very low in.. It was only open for three friday nights last season. They don't have that info on the slips on mine atleast. **** it doesn't even show me the 1/8th mile stuff lol
