Wrx Sti I am supposed to race one of these within the next two weekends. I got about 3 people backing me with money so I want to win. This cocky SOB in and STI wants to run. Says he has an aftermarket BOV and exhaust. He said he never ran it at the track but people are pulling 12.5's with those mods. I got an 01 A4 Trans Am w/ TCI 3500, ORY, Hooker (will run w/ cutout), Hotcam and possilbly slicks (if not then nittos). I havent ran at the track yet with this setup so I dont know how it will do. Any ideas on the race?
He says he has beat an ls1 w/ a big cam and nitrous. I am not to worried but just thought I would ask around

Bullshit.
People won't pull 12.5s with those mods. Considering a BOV is basically nothing more than a cosmetic mod, he shouldn't even be breaking into 12s unless he's a great driver. You will eat him ALIVE. Race him and take his money.

A BOV isnt gonna do **** for adding power except that it can handle more boost then the stock BOV. Theres no way he could beat a cammed nitrous LS1 with those mods, race him and make SURE you go for money. You'll walk him.

bahaha, you've got to be putting at LEAST 50-60 more rwhp to the ground than him, with the converter and tires to take advantage of it.
if that 12.5 out an sti with nothing but exhaust and bov is true, then it must have been run by the same guy who got the mythical 12.8 out of the stock 01 z28. maybe a 12.5 is possible out of that sti on the best possible day in the best possible conditions, when driven by god himself, with a little pinch of pixie dust... but your guy sure as **** can't run a 12.5.

man that is a win in the bad, unless you blow something up. he has to be a bad *** to make that car run a mid 12, considering those mods can not put one that fast. but cant wait to hear what happens from ya! good luck, not like you need it though!

Just make sure you race him from a dig so you can take full advantage of that 3500 stall...you'll hurt his pride even more since STi's are supposed to be relatively difficult to launch well. Good Luck!

I don't know if you're running drag radials with a 3500 stall my bet would be you could take him out of the hole even though he has AWD. Those WRXs are hard as crap to drive good. Unless you just have incredible dumb luck and even with that there's practically no way anyone could pull off a 12.5 with just an exhaust. This kid is trying to **** in your ear and tell you it's raining. You better smoke him and put him in his place.
