Thumbs up Killed an older CBR-900RR

I'm heading down Bay Area Blvd, about 4pm or so and get to the light a Red Bluff next to the bike. Looked like about a 96-97 or so, older taillights. I just sit there smiling waiting for him to look over, but he won't. So I purge it one gooooood time for him, just to get his attention.........it worked. He sees my smile and kinda points as if to say "let's go buddy". Well, at this intersection it sucks for about a 100' out or so, big dip and then a rise so we roll out slowly, both waiting till we're past the ****. Right as my back wheels clear the bump I nail it and so does he. His front end comes up a bit then goes too high and he has to let out for a split second, giving me some momentum. When I hit 3rd I hit the juice and blew the tires off(bottle pressure was too high), but when they heated up enough to stop spinning I took off like a rocket! By the top of 3rd I was about a car in front and neither one of us was pulling. When I hit 4th I started walkin him and I think he realized it was over for him because about half way through 4th he let out. He was pretty cool too, cruised by kinda shakin his head, but gave a good thumbs up.

All in all a pretty good day I have to say.

You sure about this one Chris? I've ridden a '94 900RR. At least I believe it was a '94. It was red/white/blue. I'm not a bike guy. Anyway, it was crazy fast. I doubt I could hang with it even with spray.

CBR900 94-96 (mid 11s with an average rider) Not that fast compared to the new Bikes.
I've owned a 94 RR.
Ran my 87Lx (on radials) from a dig and lost by a car(10.7 car on tire), but would have passed it easily after the Quarter.
Good kill, I miss those days!

AmMscl- It was my buddy's bike and he rode it to a 11.19 @ 130mph while easing into the launch and missing a gear. Trust me, that thing moved out. He bought it used. Maybe it was modded? I can understand the kill if they are normally mid 11 second bikes. Either way, it must've been fun shocking the **** out of that guy.

Another nice kill Tit. Why is it everyone is always itching to race you? I don't get it, I have enough trouble even finding another car on the streets that's not a cop let alone a decent race.

Because, young grasshopper, I exude cockyness supremely and everyone I place myself beside feels it in their bones and they get this strange, unquenchable urge to attempt what they don't realize at the time is impossible.....................get me to leave them alone!

In one word---------> TENACITY!

Unit, read more closely. I am aware that he should have beaten from the slow roll we did, BUT he let the wheel come up to highg and had to back off for a split second giving me the edge......and 130mph trap speed isn't more than 3mph faster than me anyway so it would have been close regardless.

Don't be hatin baby.....

I agree, all bikes are not the all powerful race gods as well as all cars are not either, I have had it all from a 322 rwhp turbo hayabusa to a '94 cbr900rr, and its the driver that wins or looses the race in most cases not the bike.
Good kill
