03 Cobra runs
I went out to troll for some action tonight. I was driving around looking for anything. I noticed an 03 Cobra....he turned into an eating establishment so I wrote him off. I cruised and just when I was about to give up, I thought I would drive by that eating establishment on my way home and sure enough, the guy was walking out to his car with his chickie(tells you how long I was out trolling....the dude had dinner). I paced him for awhile and I could tell he was game. He let me lead the way until we got some good road. First run, I think he got the jump and I spun....we didn't have enough room anyway. I ran it up to the middle of third and had to let off. He had a car on me. We made another little half run and it was inconclusive. The third and best run......we started prett even from a 60mph roll. I got out to a half car but he was slowly reeling and started to pull. He had a half car and then I reeled it back when he shifted and I had a little bit on him. He started to pull and just about evened up where I think my aerodynamic advantage may have helped because his pull stopped. I took it up to the top of fourth and then let off due to getting into the crazy speed and not the perfect road. Pretty damn even.
We stopped to talk. He was the typical pulley/chip/exhaust in the 450rwhp range. I had posted an 03 Cobra encounter awhile back but we really didn't have enough road then. It turned out to be the same dude. Really nice guy. I still think he has the faster car but I would gain a lot back during his shifts. Also it was interesting the way the race seesawed back and fourth due to the different gearing and the way the cars differ in powerbands. I think he was impressed with a 350rwhp vette giving him a run like that. Great race. Decent guy.

Nice races. Those 03' Cobras have a lot of potential. I'd like to see how the aftermarket responds in a couple of years. I kinda see it being like the Domestic Supra.

Nice runs, still stock Flynlo?
If the F-Body doesn't come back with a vengeance, the next car I'll own will most likely be an '03-'04 Cobra after college.

In a few years? How about now!!!! The car has only been out a year an there is a 8.98 runing 6 speed car. X2c has made 1000 rwhp on a bone stock long block with a turbo kit (t88 i think)
Here is what is out now in power adder replacement!
Apten reworked eaton
Works Screw blower
KB Screw Blower
Whipple Blower (january)
Procharger p1sc and f1-r
X2c Turbo kits t76 and t88
Pro turbo kits
And all the headers and bolt ons from othe 4.6 doch motors.
SHM has a 6.0L aluminum mod motor blocks.

You're right FLYNLO. '03 Cobra like to be shifted right at 6,000rpm. There's 3mph to be had in the 1/4 mile by powershifting so he'd lose quite a bit if he granny shifted. I've driven an '03 Z06 and I was extremely impressed by it much more so than my '03 Cobra.
The weight of the Cobra is a huge problem. Ford really screwed the pooch there.
I'd love to run a Z06. The only one I see in my town is owned by the pizza delivery guy...and yes, he's delivered pizza to me in it!

Nice run, now go spend $500 on some valvesprings and a cam and smoke his ***
I thought the car that ran 8 seconds @ 15x from XTC was not the 2003 cobra? The 2003 cobra didn't have any times yet, but ran in the 10's previously on the T-76. Did they finally run it this weekend?
Peace,

Look at the new t 88 set up...... the 730 rwhp was the t76 turbo. Since then thay have gone with a t88, gen 7 dfi twin 1000 hp aromotive fp's a new intake ect... They went 8.97.. You can see it on a post they started on svtperformance.com under the terminator section.

I've driven a 660rwhp Kenne Belle '03 Cobra. Very nice. Still not enough power for me. I honestly want 1000rwhp for a daily driver. It's going to have to be a turbo Viper most likely.
