Default 1993 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 6.3 with exhaust, VS Stock 02 2v GT.

As the name says. I had a friend that works in the same building as I do (He works for the newspaper, I work for the company that owns the newspaper) Anyhow him and his other LT1 TA buddies that worked in the copy room kept talking all kinds of shiz to me every time I'd park the car to go in (They usually were outside smoking cigs) The one I was supposed to race awhile back ended up smashing his car against the telephone poll. I figured that would be the end of the ****-talk. Not even a month goes buy now, and both of them started talking smack to me as I was walking to my car at lunch time. He kept going on about how his "stock" (new catback) 93 TransAm could put a wh00pin on my car. This kid seems to be about 24 I'd say. He probably thinks I am not too much older. They always make that mistake. Anyhow I ask him if he uses any Fi of any kind. He said "Nope, she's stock other than the catback" So I shake my head, and go to leave. He then said "So when you going to let me beat you?" I told him I knew of no safe place to race around here, and it was like 42° out. He told me of a place out Rt. 47 somewhere that him and his buddies used. So I agreed to meet up with him in the lot at 5, and we'd drive out there. Anyhow, 5 gets there, We get to the stop, (new pavement too.. wow ) Neither of us have drag radials soo.. Anyhow the race was from a dig. As soon as it started I was a good half car ahead of him. I started gaining a bit at the top of 2, then lost a small amount when shifting into 3. By the time I hit my sweet spot at 3 I had a car on him. Literally, he was RIGHT at my back bumper. It stayed that way all the way to about 100 when he started gaining. At 120 there was an intersection coming up and we stopped (We agreed to this before the race)

I asked if he wanted to race again, best of three etc, he did not. Mentioned something about "heat soak" and how his car needed a tune up etc. That he'd race me again in a few weeks.

He wasn't a total douche-bag about losing, but he didn't gracefully win either. He never admitted my car, or driving was faster than his. It was the "fact" his car needed a tune-up. Something he didn't mention before.

If he had beaten me, I'd have congratulated him. I'd have also taken the 3 races.

But either way, Good race.

Have NO Clue. That's what the owner kept calling his car. I must have heard him say it "93 Pontiac Firebird TA 6.3 with catback" about 10 million different times.

It was how many cylinders it ran on average. Remember, needed a tune up!

But seriously, the kid talked a lot of ****. Did the "rustang" thing. Did the "Only 4.6l? Do they even make 8cyl that small?" thing, asked me if I bought it from my sister..

In the end it only made me pwning him even more worth the waste of gas.

**** talkers are always fun to stomp. That makes the 4th stockish LT1 I've beaten. (Not that I am bragging.. )

6.3 liters would convert into around 383 c.i.d. Maybe he was trying to intimidate you by acting like he had a big stroker motor lol

I thought the t/a possibly had 6.0 block done to a 6.3?

Lol at the tuning on average of 6.3 cylinders.

Yeah no clue on the 6.3. It's just what he said it was. He spun a bit on launch too. I think he tried to launch too hard on non-drag radials. I see that a lot when racing people that don't have them. Had he had them, he would have easily taken me. This summer I'll probably get some 555s.

I've raced a handful of LS1 fbodies for ***** and giggles. Of the 5 or 6 I've raced, I only beat one driver. It was an auto LS1, and the guy was young, and didn't have enough seat time. Had the race gone on any longer, he would have easily passed me. He again, pushed the gas too hard at first and spun and his rear slid to the side a bit. He was catching up to me the whole time after. I would never say I could take LS1s though. That would be silly.

Heat soak? Where do some people learn to lie, from their priests? It would've been better if he had a. just accepted the loss or b. said "I wasn't really racing you..."

Look at this as an added bonus: think of all the s**t you get to talk next time you pass him...

I try the humble approach. Not the biggest **** talker in that way. Chicks dig it. There is nothing I could say to him that would beat whatever it is he is saying to himself anyhow.

Yeah the heat soak thing gave me a little giggle. I felt a tiny bit of urine puddling around the tip of my helmet.

Kudos to you for runing your car man.
To me it's all about having fun.

Around here 2v gt guys have hids, blowmaster, and cobra bumpers.

That's all they care about lol, almost like a niche of domestic rice.

Good kill man, sounds like you outlaunched him and held on til the end. I don't know why people feel the need to talk **** with slow cars . What do you have done to your car?

That's exactly what happened.

I am certainly not trying to talk ****. I know a stock 2v is slow. But a stock/barely modded LT1 is slow too. Soo.. My belief as to why I haven't been beat by a LT1 is, a lot of younger kids are buying them and racing them, and they don't really know how to drive them. Had that exhaust LT1 had a better driver, the result would have probably been different.
