Default Ls1 vs Lt1, video of me getting beat

This happened a while ago, just never posted it here. Accidently launched with the bottle on and spun pretty good. I have bolt ons/spray, the lt1 is cam/spray. I need suspension pretty bad. Got pulled about 1.5 cars. Video sucks I know, the camara car was a sloow mustang.

You get credit for posting a race that's worth reading about, even if you can't tell what's going on in the video

Good death!

Dude said he was on bfg radials and when I showed up he was on 28x12.5 slicks, lol. I am guessing his car traps mid 120s.

DR's hook better than slicks on the street btw. Been there many times and tried both.

Edit: Given both are around the same size.

I think it depends on the tire. I can say that bias ply ET streets hook better than a Nitto. ET Street radials might be a different story, but I'd have to test it out

How do I figure? Like I said, I've tried it! Both with 600+rwhp and 4.30 rear gears.

275/50/15 MT DRs > 26/10/15 ET Drags

It is no contest at all.

Nittos are good drag radials to use if you want to get tire wear, nothing more. They are a good "street tire". If you have a weekend car then look towards Hoosier or MT.

Yeah, they were great for my bolt-on and cammec LT1's and my Camaro when it was a bolt-on car. Once I put the cam in the LS1 I was overpowering them. I'm just waiting for them to wear out and then I'll be ordering up some ET street radials

I am not seeing how a drag radial is better than a slick. I know a 275 has a lot more contact patch than a 26/10.5 ET street tho, are slicks the same way?

A 10" slick is no smaller than a 275 MT. I've compared the two and if there is any difference it is not noticeable. Do you understand what I am saying here? A DR is better than a slick on the street. Now on the track if I'm being serious I will not show up with anything but a slick. I've driven 1.5 hours to a track on a set of ET Drags before, and drove home on them too. But on the street, from my personal experience 15" MT DR's rule when we are talking about traction.
