Default New 1/8mile track best!!! with a kill

Yesterday I went to the track for the first time this year. I'm not sure if this is in the right section if its not please someone move it. Back to the story. My car is a 02 SS T56 full weight and full tank of gas. Mods are lid, full exhaust, gears, and a HSW dry 100 shot before MAF, and a mailorder tune. I had 255/50/16 BFG drag radials. The temperature was ~60 and I think the track is 616ft above sea level. I made three passes first pass was a botched run I left the ASR on accident so that made a big difference and I did not use the N20.
Results: I forgot the everything but my et was 8.78

My second run was on nitrous and my bottle pressure was not great but if I had to say it was over 800psi, but no 950psi. I did not spray in first gear or go WOT because I don't have the means to "lock out" 1st gear. I shifted to second and rolled into the throttle and went WOT at 3500 rpms.
Results are 60ft. 2.08 330ft. 5.47 ET 8.21 @ 91.37 mph.
I think that my clutch slipped a little but I'm not sure I have a OEM replacement with less than 5k miles.

I was stoked about the 8.21 so I decided to see if on motor I could improve on that 8.78. I get lined up with my friendly rival who beat me a few weeks ago from a 55 roll in his 06 GTO manual trans w/ headers and CAI. We line them up and the stars must have been aligned for me.

My final pass results are: 60ft. 1.96 330ft. 5.44 ET 8.37 @ 84.22
He ran a 8.80 @ 80 60ft. 2.08 330ft. 5.67 after the race he said he missed 3rd gear.

Sorry for the long post but I'm really excited about the new personal best on motor and nitrous. I am wondering if the times I ran are average or were they like a freak one time deal. Feel free to add your comments or experiences Thanks Guys.

so pretty much ur 100 shot pass was only .16 faster than your best motor pass. id get 1st gear locked out on the nitrous and really run that car.

Or get some ET Streets and Dump the clutch at 5k+ and spray 1st gear. Hope you have a rear end though.

I was there and witnessed all of the above runs. They were good runs especially the last N/A run. I was very suprised to see that. He took off really easy on the line no dumping of the clutch or anything like that. Shifting was SUPERB and it hooked really well too. Overall I think that it was a good day.

Nah I'm not gonna spray 1st gear EVER. The bfg's hooked fine on the 2nd and 3rd pass. My brother did say I was out of the groove on the nitrous run though. I have the stock rear end and don't have the $ to fix/upgrade it so no 5k dumps for me. I really feel that I have a 8.0 or lower pass in the car on nitrous if I wasn't "easy" on it off the line. If I was to run the same 60' on nitrous that I did on motor the ET should have been around 8.0 or better. I did the math and "IF" I had the same 1.9623 60' on the nitrous pass I would have had the et 7.95x. This is of course theoretical. But to be only .1567 seconds faster with a mph increase of 7.15mph I really think that my stock OEM replacement clutch is definitely slipping and maybe I lost a lil traction but I didn't feel it. Its really kinda confusing looking at the #'s but anything can happen I suppose what do you experienced track guys think.

Wow I'm kinda surprised that I don't have more replies on this thread. Oh well I guess this will be my first and last bump.

I think an 8.7 was bad for your mods. I ran a 8.75 with my stock 2000 TA. But your second NA pass was great. But not good if u are running nitrous and only improved .1 or so.

I totally agree that the 8.7 is nothing to be proud of. If you read my first post you would see why its so bad. Either way I was stoked of my NA run and IF it was a 1/4 mile track I'm sure it would be a much larger et improvement on nitrous with the 7mph increase at the 1/8 mile mark. But the saying goes if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry xmas.

I'm not calling bs at all but for your LT1 to run that time I would guess that you are an auto with a stall. If I'm wrong fill me in but I do not really see a full exhaust and 4.10 LT1 running that time. Sorry man.
