Default Camed CTS-V LS6 vs Prochraged mustang GT

Met up with a buddie of mine who also has a CTS-V , but he happend to have his mustang out. Its a procharged 02 gt, 10psi pulley and related parts, meth and basic bolt ons. Sharp looking car. He said hes due for a clutch upgrade aswell.

My cts-v parts are in my sig, basicly bolt ons a cam.

So we did a few roll runs, it was chilly out today and my traction wasnt the best but not 2 bad from second gear. He was by himself I had a passanger.

I got a hard pull on him right off the 3rd honk everytime and he dropped back about a car fast, but he seemed to inch up every time he shifted, but it also seemed like he was flying through the gears fast and was going to run out qwk.

We got some good pulls in but didnt get to go ***** out top end, I had to keep shuting down due to traffic and etc ... damm mexico roads were crowded tonight.

heres the video, very poor quality but its all ive got. And its better then no video

Good Kill the video isn't the greatest but it is a vid to watch. It seems right do you happen to know what kind of numbers the mustang put down. I raced a 04 Vortech GT with 12 or 14 lbs. and he said it had 400 to the wheels. I raced him twice from a 30 roll and were dead *** even both times. Your car is definitely faster than mine so outcome was expected.

CTS Vs are so damn sweet! Good kill. A 2v on 10lbs will generally make 375-400rwhp. Anymore than that and its just a matter of time before it craps out. And why does he have a methanol kit on it unless for furture use? Timing isn't the issue but internal limits instead.

Great kill, that CTS-V is one nasty ride!

What gears are in the Mustang? Once the weather warms up you guys should get a good run in from a 1st gear roll through 4th with no traffic. See how far out you can get on him

Good job dude! My buddy Josh talked to that guy in the CTS-V, I initially thought he was talking about you lol. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have the car out again so we can have some fun

He said hes making 414 to the wheels and tq was around there, for gears I think he said he had 390's.

Seemed like he was gaining on me, but also sounded like he was running out of gears.

Wow 414whp is a lot for that car on only 10psi. A friend of mine has a Vortec T Trim blower on his 02GT and only made 330whp with supporting mods. Is a Procharger on 10psi really that much better than a T trim on 10psi? The T trim is already a pretty big supercharger.

Anyway, when my GTO was bone stock, a few months after I got it, we raced and everytime I'd pull him 1-2 cars. He'd stay right with me until about 100mph, then I'd start walkin away.

Good kill

ya you cant compre the two numbers since every dyno is so diffrent...
its a 10psi pulley but I think it makes about 12psi.

Plus it depneds on the rest of the bolt ons.

My buddie said he thinks the stang has a boost leak after talking to him today, I thought it would of been a better race aswell.

We'll do a rematch soon!

o ya, were doing a huge meet before the uccon show on april 10th.

It will be early in the am, going to be a bunch of cars, Everything from srt4s to boosted 350z's

Hope to get some good runs in.

ive gotta start clutch shopping , the garbage spec is still giving me trouble getting into gears at high rpms. Requires a **** load of force to get into 3rd 4th and 5th....

could be just a small jet for meth to keep it consistant and safe. a factory pi head is prone to detonation due to a notch in the cumbustion chamber for emissions. on the right set up and tune a stock motor will have no problem living at 430-440 rwhp. at that power level or even at 400 any detonation will hurt the weak bottom end.

They look good in that color with the tan top. I see a picture of the car at the track, does he have any numbers for it with the blower?

maxspeed96ct, I'll be off that day so I should be able to make it to the cruise/show. Sounds like it'll be a fun time.
