Did they really just round 127.1 up to 128? I notice they didn't round the 10.58 ET up to 10.6...
Still a damn fast car and I give them props for that, but that's just plain incorrect saying that car made a 10.58 @ 128 pass. Whether it was a 127.1 or a 127.9, the car was traveling at 127 mph when it went through the traps, not 128.

Because a car that traps 127mph in the 1/4th isn't going to be fast on the street. You guys will figure it out soon enough. I bet the Mustang kill sections are going to be lit up with "Dragged another LS1 in my 2011 GT".

I've just never rounded anything up, trap numbers or dyno numbers. As far as I'm concerned, if a car dynoed 398.8 rwhp, then it dynoed 398 rwhp, not 399, not 400. If it trapped 121.6, it trapped 121 mph. If it had trapped 122 mph, the owner would have a timeslip that reads 122.X mph, but they don't.
My last day at the track, my car trapped a 121.8 and 121.7 that day, but I've never once told anyone it trapped 122 mph...because it didn't. It trapped 121; six times that day.
I supposed it's a moot point but it's just one of those stupid little things that's always bugged me. They trapped 127.1 on that one pass and then claimed that it trapped 128 on that same pass. That's not even mathematically correct with them trying to use rounding to their advantage. It's not even skewing the numbers a little to work in their favor; it's just a plain lie. I would even have less of a problem with it if it trapped 128 at some point that day, but it didn't. They don't have a single time slip showing a 128 mph pass.
Ah well, like I said, the car is still very impressive, but sales is what it's all about, I guess...

I agree with you PSM about the trap speed thing. I would never say a car ran 10.7 if it actually ran 10.81 or it trapped 130mph when it actually trapped 129.9mph. But as far as the dyno goes, numbers aren't consistant anyways, not to mention they don't really mean anything. If a car makes 310rwhp you can run it again right after and it will make 308rwhp or you can wait 10 minutes and it will make 312rwhp. If my car makes 299.9rwhp then I'm going to say it makes 300rwhp. The track is where you find out what a car really does, not the dyno.

I would just hate to have to bust out a 121.5 timeslip if I was going around claiming my car trapped 122 and someone called me on it, the same way I would hate to have to show them a video of me trapping 127.1 on a certain pass if I told them it trapped 128 on that pass. But that's just me.
Regardless, the car still moves the hell out. Check out that launch...
