got killed by 370z
first off my car is 98 formula a4 with 373's and slp lm1 otherwise stock down to paper filter. First run was with 370z my speedo is off went from 273's to 373's but was around 60-130 roll 370 got the jump and put about a car on me. I eventually started to pull about a fender or so right before I hit the limiter I was very impressed with the 370z but I did have a 200lb passenger and im 260 and the z had just driver. It sounded stock Is this a normal result for bolt on ls1 vs 370z? I have a set of 1 3/4" stainless longtube's waiting to go on just need to get a y and get it tuned than I beleive it should make for alot different outcome.

I just punched it I am skeptical of downshifting I am a newb to racing. As soon as my car downshifted we were dead even as far as pulling I beleive that wouldve made it dead even. School me on racing a automatic please.

0-50 put it in first.. 50-80 put it in 2nd... im sure auto guys will clarify as im 6 speed.

0-40 put it in 1st.. 40-70 put it in 2nd.... maybe you shouldnt listen to me.. lol
just go run it through 3 gears and note where they all top out at. then you will know

Sounds about right. You and your passenger being bigger guys didn't help. If it had just been you i bet you would have pulled him easily. If I would have been driving (150lbs) I definitely should have pulled him. Good race man!

Just punching it from drive on the last honk or whatever definitely puts you at a disadvantage right off the bat. I have a good video that shows this (me racing my brother's LT1 in my G8). I'll try to get it posted up in the next couple days.

good run OP.do you know if it was an auto or manual? the auto are actually a tad bit quicker in the 1/4 and on the topend.
and to maxspeed. Zterminator in his Z with intake/Headers/hfc/exhaust/tune is running 12.5s currently. as far as basic bolton's go there equal to the ls1.
one thing i hate about my Z around 40 mph or around certain other areas if you dont switch to manual mode the car actually will actually downshift twice instead of just skipping down. gives a horrible delay from a roll.

thats the one thing i havent understood yet in the import world... there isnt like any stall converters for the autos..... not sure why? or when they are there few and far between.
i could only imagine what my car would be like with a 3400+ stall on it with the short gear ratio it already has.
