Default Learned Humility Yesterday

Well..... I had no idea what a Subaru Impreza WRX STi was until yesterday. Interstate driving about 75mph and we both punched it and he still pulled away. Only after doing some research did I learn that he is a turbocharged 2.0, all wheel drive, driver controlled differential with water sprayed intercooler generating 300+ horsepower..... If you get one pulling up next to you, be advised he is not rice... he spent about 35+K on his car and it goes!!

LTs, comp CAM, and 3500 torque converter up next.....

as for you asking 3500 or 4000 on yours, I say 3500 to keep daily driveability

Ignorance sucks, huh?

I find it hard to beleive someone didn't know about the STi. I remember the only car that made be be like 'wtf' was when I just got my 93 Mustang GT. I raced an 02 Maxima SE with the 6 speed. It pulled me pretty good. After that, I always made sure I knew as much as I could about every car on the road that could pose a possible threat, and those that are junk.

the only cars ive been iffy about are the 4 door BMW M3/M5 Merc AMG cars...other than that im pretty good at knowing what i can handle and if i should try and a roll or from a stop thankfully living in trenton doesnt produce many top dollar cars so you really dont have to worry about something abnormal sneaking up on you.

ok, just in case.

you should research the Mitsubishi Evolution (it's been competing with the subaru for about damn near a decade now) AWD, 2.0 turbo, 270hp.. it has less power so it's not as much of a threat. specially from a roll.

I do believe the Evo VII, with less HP runs neck and neck with a STi. Sorry about the loss.

i'm sure the same driver would post better e.t. with the sti.

300ft lb doesn't hurt.

nice death. First cut off that chokemaster, cause that is killing you. and more mods. anyways, that little STI might have had a few more things done to it, to pull from you.

better luck next time!

The average stock STi usually runs around 102-105 at the traps.

What does your A4 run in the 1/4? With your mods....you should be at at least 105 so that is telling me that the STi was not stock.

Some of those AMG cars have over 400 hp supercharged OHC V8s, etc... They run with Z06's. Watch out for the SL/CL55's, the CL65's, and the new SLR. Some of the SLK and CLK cars are pretty quick too...

If you had a converter you would have pulled him. The roll is his weak spot. Race one off the line and it would be ugly. Spoll it up dump the cluch AWD Be thankfull it was from a roll

Its actually a 2.5L. And a stock Sti traps at around 103. So he had something done to it probably, like a Downpipe, intake a boost controller. With those mods they have been known to run 12.6-12.7 at 106-107 with 1.6-.17 60' times. I use to own a WRX, thats how I know all this usless information.

Yeah those sti's are pretty nasty, by the way what kind of times does your 98ss run with those mods?
