99 Maro M6 LS1 vs LS2 Auto GTO Two weeks ago I raced a black auto 6.0L GTO in my 99 camaro. I'm not sure what mods or what year it was tho. I'm guessin that it was stock. Anyway, he pulls up on the back road where my car club was racing. (Phasst) He was doin donuts and spinnin tires, smokin the strip out alittle. I stayed posted at the corner waiting to see who was gonna run next. No one line up so I drive down to where my team was and ask them "what's up". My homie see's the GTO, looks at me and says "go get'em Gee".
I just dynoed my car at 310 rwhp and 246 rwtq a few days earlier. I found out that I have a cracked drivers side cat, my air filter is super clogged and my pinion seal is leaking pretty bad. But I say, "the hell with it" and I pull my car up to the line. The GTO see's me and then he pulls up to the line. I yell "three beeps?". He knodds ok. I sound off three beeps then we take off. Neither one of us launch bcuz of lack of suspension so we take off from idle. We're right next to each other for about two seconds, he pulls up about a half fender until I shift to 2nd. I don't think that I let off the clutch all the way bcuz the back of my car got loose for a split second, but I get back traction and I bang 3rd gear pretty good. He has about a headlight on me until I shift to fourth. We were even for about another two seconds and then I finally pulled him about a car. He may have let off early but not sure tho.
camaro 1-0, GTO 0-1.
We line'em up again, my homie is doin the arm drop this time. He asked was I ready and then he asked the GTO. Instead of dropping his arms, he steps out of the way. I wasn't sure what was going on then the GTO took off. I went off after him from one car behind and was only able to catch his headlight.

My mods are, some kind of air lid and long tubes with 2 1/2" y-pipe and 3" cat-back, it's an SS so it has the ram air hood and 3.42 gears in a stock 10 bolt. I bought the car already modded and he didn't know the names of anything.

If his GTO was stock and you on LT's and airlid, honestly you should have been able to do the slow walk all the way up. either your car isnt running right, or his is modded. My money is on your car being on a stock tune because the previous owner took out his predator tune and loaded the default tune back in it so he could sell it.
Get a good dyno tune and you are set to own him (and any other car that you lost by a car or two too before)
