2001 Z28 v. Skyline GT
I was headed to work this mornin and i pulled up behind a guy in a older Skyline Gt. We pull out of the light and he takes off. I finally catch up to him at a red light. We both were very aware what was next. Light turns green and i instanly have a door on him. I put it in 2nd and hes at my fender. He stays right there til about 100 when we ran into some traffic. By far if not the best but the coolest race ive ever had. I mean a right-side drive Skyline Gt in ALABAMA! **** thats rare in itself! Much less getting a race at one lol I think the car was all stock besides exhaust cause i never did hear a big blow off valve or anything like that. Still a fun race. My adrenaline is still flowing 2 hours later!

Not sure what motor is in the skyline gt, but good kill none the less. I have seen a white gt up at a huge car show, but didn't care much about it. Saw the engine bay, didn't look like a rb series in it (no idea of swap or not...was a r34 style), and it was rear wheel drive (did a lil burn out as he left), but other then that, no info on them.

just did a little research and these are high 13 second cars. Now i know it had exhaust but thats all i could tell he had. Kinda disapointed now. But these cars have really good torque numbers and a 4.10 gear. So that might be why it was so close of a race on the bottom end. I think i might have ran off on him on the top side had i got all the way thru 3rd without hitting traffic (car really shines in 3rd). Maybe ill see him tomorow

the r32,r33,r34 all have a gt model. if it was just a gt here in japan they are not turbo models the gt25t or the gtr are the turbo models. those are the 3 models of skylines. end debate i have seen and driven them all.

I've yet to actually race one w/ my Z here in England (there are bunch of them running around here in England imported from Japan, from base line Skyline to GTRs) however it did tried to keep up w/ the Z to about 100 then I had to shut down because of the speed camera ahead.

the only way to tell if it was in fact a turbo model by badges is on the back drivers side badge it wil say GT25.T above the lights. the gt's just say GT they all have gt in the front and on the sides even the GTR's have GT on the sides except the GTR also says GTR in the grill and is centered and also on the r32 the GTR is on the left/passenger side rear where as the 33-34 are on the drivers side.

A GT-S, a GT-4, or anything else besides the plain GT is not a GT.
Just because the letters GT happen to reside in the name, doesn't make it a GT.
You wouldn't call a 'GT500' a 'GT', would you?
