Well, for all the people saying this is the year the mustang is going to rape all of our GM faces, i say, BS. ive been calling bs this whole time with an itch in the back of my head hoping to GOD i was not wrong. and you know what, im a cocky sob, and this is LS1tech, so please, bring the stang bashing in this thread, it is welcome. and no, none of you ford fans can change my mind by saying he didnt race, or he was in the wrong gear, or it wasnt a track pack. i dont give 2 *****. the car said 5.0 on it. i raced it, i won. idc how many videos you post of gutted slicked nitrous stangs you show me running 10s. fact is, on the street, they are still going to get walked by an ls1. now to the story!
i was crusing down the tollway and saw a new mustang up ahead. i catch up to it and YES YES YES it says 5.0 on in. late 30s guy, so i rev at him. he thumbs up me and i motion to lets go. he nods, and i see him/hear him downshift, so i put it in 3rd at 60... right as i rev matched and downshifted, he took off grabbing a fender. as i hit the gas i immediately get my fender back and proceed to put 1 car length between us by 90. he backed off and exited
yes im modded, but im also using an engine that is 13 years old. so bring the excusses thats fine. i wish the guy woulda gave me another run but oh well.

EDIT: i am however, happy that ford has at least tried to step up. at least its sorta a race now. dont take my mustang hating to personal levels, id drive one over a foreign vehicle ne day.

Good kill ! but that was probably a bone stock car, high miles or not your modded and you have respectable power for your mods. Looks like you matched his power and you had the weight advantage.So i guess the rule of thumb its a driver race between a bolt on ls1 against a bone stock new 5.0.Wow i never thought i would say that lol!

I'm on my 4th F-Body, I love them, but if I had $40K to spend on the new 5.0, my WS6 would be gone in a heartbeat.

There's nothing wrong with admitting that something out there is faster, better built, more mod friendly, etc...

good kill but your win isnt like wow......same power, similiar weight, you have gears and long tubes.

not trying to start a fight just saying. not tryign to post another video lol but here is a good friends car. tune only with slicks and skinnies plus one hell of a driver mod. cars are fast you just havent run into one yet just like every other car 95% dont go as fast as they should. this is one example of a properly driven car.

It's an argument poor ******* use when they can't afford the nicer car. You see it all the time, a guy buys a brand new vette (or whatever) and whips the **** out of a mustang or an F-Body and the argument always is..."You paid $50K for that car?" Well I only paid $15K for mine, give me $35K and I'll walk all over you. Whatever... He still drives the nicer car....

Like I said before, I love the F-bodies. I've had 4 now. But the 2011 5.0 IS the nicer car. All around.

He would run out of gear?? Ummmm I dont think so I can still hit 170mph and not run out of gear... Reason I know this I put 3 cars on my friends vette (99 frc) and he let off at 170 and I was up... My speedo was maxed.. I would love to see a 5.0 keep up with me at those speeds than ill be impressed..lol

Why wouldnt he ? you act like you are just making 100 hp more than a 5.0 he isnt gonna run out of power any more than you are. your car wont hit 170 with 410's ...even with your cam.you got maybe 395 max his highway gear would hawk you down. A tuned 5.0 would give a stock 03 a good run if not whoop it...

I know it cant keep up with me on the topend.. How do you know how good the 5.0 runs do you have one??? No so how can you be so sure.. I had a couple of grudge matches with some termi's thats how I know and I know the 5.0 wont take any one of those termi
