M6 SS vs. 2007 stock turbo STI
I ran an STi last night that was REALLY fast for what he claimed.
I put down 420/390 to the wheels
He claimed 350/434 on the stock turbo still
We went from 40-120 and I only put a car on him...
We found a better spot to run, lined up at an abandoned intersection out in BFE for a dig run. I'm on BALD M/T drag radials, he's on Star Spec tires on all corners. I honk it off and he jumps about 4 cars on me instantly due to traction issues and I real him in but not until about 160.
Next few races we went from a 10 MPH role to even the playing field some.
10-150 I put about 2 cars on him 3 times in a row.
Does that sound about right? He claims about 21 PSI on the stock turbo, and that thing was LOUD!

those 2.5's put out alotta TQ. But i cant imagine a stock turbo being able to put down 130 more tq to the wheels then the advertised tq at the engine. But ya never know. Maybe stock turbo with nitrous? Still good kill.

2007 STIs had the weakest pistons of all of them, and 350whp is definitely in the danger zone for blowing a ringland. The rods and crank are safe to 450 or so, but a modded 07 on stock pistons is a time bomb.
Actually the stock wing is all business. It does a lot for the balance of the car. I like the wingless look better, but i certainly wouldn't remove it.
Only on 21 psi, so probably not running meth or E85. If so, he's tuned conservatively.
422 tq to the front wheels...that must have been useless on the street (unless you had big DRs on it for street use).

Pretty sad if 114mph is all they can get on the stock turbo. Kinda makes FI being so special for bolt-ons not look so great. Bolt-on GTOs, SRT-8s and Fbodies can all do that. The Evo and 335i seem much better choices on stock turbos.

Probably just a torque spike from where the boost comes in. The low horsepower in relation shows that the boost isn't holding up top, which results in a lower horespower output. That and/or he might be keeping the revs conservative.

Have you seen how big the sti turbo is? Tiny is an understatment.
