Dumb Mustangs
I friend of mine has a 1991 Mustang 5.slow with a 4 inch cowl hood, long tubes with off road h pipe, mass air flow sensor and pretty much all other bolt ons. About two weeks ago he recieved his weld racing draglite rims and a pair of BFG drag radials on back. He thought he was tough **** and could beat my almighty LS1 powered Camaro. We scheduled to race last sunday night at a place called Jack rabbit road. I didnt want to put my Nittos on because I just didnt want to waste my time. He comes over that night and I asked him how much he wanted to race for and he said nothing. I finally talked him into racing for $5. We raced and I beat him by 3 car lengths on my 245/60/16 street tires. Felt pretty good. Just thought I would share with you guys. Peace.

Your happy you beat an almost stock stang when your car comes from the factory with essentially a stroker.
I have a dumb mustang with a similar sized engine if you wanna try your luck with fox bodies...

dude, i could have told you that you would win that race. he would need quite a bit of stuff to get that stang into the 12's. trust me, just put some gas on your car and a good tire, and maybe 3.73's and easy 11's are yours! take it easy

guys but you have to know these kids that drive the stangs at my old school, and currently brents. they are quick 13 sec stangs, but everyone who knows nothing about cars think they are unbeatable. but i have full faith in the ls1 that he would win. i wish i could have been there to put some money down on the race. oh well. nice kill man!!

No matter what kind of car you waxed, it was a good kill.

I think I am fast (stock), but you would think I was slow, and Aries would think you were shoving your finger up your butt and sniffing it to get high, and a F16 pilot would laugh at us, and and SST astronaut would not even give us a glance. Fast is relative. Reality is made up of perceptions and if we are percieved as slow then we are percieved that way. I think any LS1 FBody is fast including yours, but there is always someone faster, I know it and I am sure you know it as well.

LS1 Brent- You're car may seem fast to you because you haven't been exposed to anything else I'm guessing. Nine and ten second cars are slow to me because I'm around 6 and 7 second cars all the time. My car feels really slow to me too. There was a point when I thought my 13.0 @ 107mph car was fast.
My point is just that your "almighty" LS1 isn't as fast as you think it is. I'm not trying to bust your ***** or anything...just some friendly conversation.
