Default 2011 5.0 vs 2006 GTO

Not sure if this goes in this section, but a kill is a kill?

I made my way out to the local dig spot last night, and had the chance to meet a 5.0 owner. Really cool guy, and ended up owning 2 GTOs in the past. I asked him if he wanted to make a fun run, and he was down.

We were both on Street tires. His best pass of the night was a 13.1 at 109, and I was running constant 12.8.12.9 all night at 112

I thought the new 5.0s were supposed to be low 12's? Homeboy needs to learn to drive his auto.

Was this at altitude?

Good kill man.

Yeah something is definatly wrong, those new 5.0s stock are mid 12s easy with some in the low 12s. Hell just a tune and tires and they are yanking Veyrons.

He said it was an auto. They come stock with 3.15 gears. The manual with the 3.73 option should be solidly be in the 12's.

Good kill OP, was that PBIR??

Excuse #1. It was an auto.

Waits on excuse #2.....Probably raining in Austraila that messed with the tune.

No excuses here. I think a 13.1 is probably a respectable time for an average driver. Too many people bitch if a stock car doesn't run the optimal magazine time every time it goes down the track. Meanwhile, 95% of the people who bitch couldn't do any better. Props to the modified GTO for the excellent kill on a stock Mustang.

Good kill OP. I drove both a manual 5.0 and an automatic 5.0, the 3.73 geared manual car definitely felt a lot stronger.

I would guess he had 2.0+ 60fts.

1.9s would put him in the 12s easily.

A ha! See! You're car ran pretty good with those 60fts. I take it conditions were rather good for racing?

If I wasn't too lazy right now to go and edit it... That would be SIG worthy! LMAO

Props OP.

I haven't even seen a new 5.0 in my neck of the woods.

Is this the part where Ju1ce comes in and says his stock GTO with nothing but slicks runs low 10's and the new 5.0 is nothing but hype?

Mustang got the jump, then got smoked. I am sure they are respectible but everytime a vid shows up with them being beet the Mustang crowd jumps in and makes excuses. Do the Mustang crowd realley wont to be associated with that? The havent figured out that Ford took a page out of the partners ( Mazda's) bok and has over inflated HP and performance specs since 2001? Anyone else remember the fiasco that was the 2000's DOC Cobra buy back program?

Damn dave. let me guess: 11:30pm on a saturday night. About 8 or 9 Fosters down already, right? Your crappy spelling gives you away bro. Buzzed Blogging ftl!

Like I told you, the Mustang 5.0's numbers are actually pretty spot on this time. Of course they put every computer nanny they could think of on it so that the atypical Mustang owner doesnt go out and kill themselves right off the bat when they drive it the same way they drove there older GT's.

Wow. People are still bothered by the fact that the new 5.0 is faster than a stock Camaro?
Get over it.

Nice times OP.
