03 Z06 vs 03 Cobra
Brought my Z06 up to Arkansas last weekend and ran into a buddy of mine who has an 03 cobra. He said he had a pulley tensioner and exhaust. He ran a 12.0 @ 116 launching at 6300 rpms, dude can drive. Anyway, he wanted some of the Z. This would be my first time racing this car, just got it a couple weeks ago. I thought it would be a drivers race. We went from a 40 roll, I did get a split second jump on him, his front bumper was at my door handle at the end of 2nd, 3rd gear I started to see his headlight in my side mirror, 4th at about 120-ish, he was about 3-4 cars back looking in my rearview. I was very surprised, as was he. I then took it to get dynoed this past tuesday at englandgreen and my mods and numbers are below in my sig. My baseline dyno was 390/375, so thats what the cobra saw.

That's about a 60rwhp difference. Launching at 6,300rpm. That's
ridiculous unless he's running a real tire. 12.0 is horrible for a Cobra with a pulley
IMO, assuming that he has a pulley. 12.0 is pretty stout for a stock upper.
Anyway, good kill on the snake!

he said it was just a pulley tensioner, not a pulley and a tensioner. not sure if it did anything, so i listed it as a mod. not too familiar with the cobra's, or mustangs in general.
and he does run a drag radial, or et street, but just on the track.

Nice kill! I love C5 Z's. Yours looks pretty clean. Did you guys only do one run?
And **** your stacking up the miles quick. Better be careful, they add up faster than you realize!

My car, mods and numbers are basically a mirror of yours... The question is who knows and can use his car better..? Lol...

I'm diggin all the ls6 stuff lately....I wish there was more action around here so I could share some stories. There used to be good street action here....but almost all my stories are old .

i wish i had a damn video of it, but all i had was my iphone and i didnt have a passenger. i plan on some more racing, ill get a vidoe up soon enough. i was actually headed to houston raceway to see what she would do in the 1/4, but found a damn screw near the sidewall of my rear tire, so that was a no go. maybe next time.
