Default Anyone ever race an Acura TL?

My friend has one. It's a really nice car IMO and it has some decent pep in it's step. He dyno'd it for ***** 'n giggles. It made 225fwhp (that's front wheel, not fly wheel). It moves out ok.

Anyone ever race one?

My wife has an 03 TL Type-S. It is pretty quick for what it is. I busted a newer BMW 330i last night in it. The mid range power on those cars is suprising for a V-6. The problem is they have no torque. Did your friend tell you what his torque was on the dyno? I bet it is under 200.

I didn't ask about the torque. This is the same guy with the 2,000hp Mustang so he could really careless.

One of my buddies around town has one. He has a few mods done and run's low 14's. They move pretty good and handle nice. We race down the highway alot, he doesn't fall to far behind. They're really nice cars

They weren't meant to be raced really. I'm impressed with them...very comfortable and plenty of nice options including navigation.

Unit,
How the hell did you fit comfortably inside one. My mom has a 2002 TL not S type. I'm 6foot,2, and the thing is uncomfortable as hell to drive. The roof seems way too low in the car. The only way to drive comfortably is for me to recline the seat back; it looks like I'm driving "thug life style". Nice car, smooth power, plenty of options, great auto trans, Honda reliability
I pulled on a Nissan Maxima GLE 92-96? body style on the Atlantic City Expressway. Not much of a street race, but the power of the car impressed me.

Tony,

It's my understanding that the '04 TL's are completely different than '02's. There is more than enough room in that thing. Actually, I don't even need the seat to go back all the way for me to be comfortable. People sit behind me with no problem either.

Unit,
hope you didn't take my post the wrong way. (There's no way to express good natured sarchasim in writing.) I didn't know your bud bought an 04, and I remember you saying how tall you were.
Yes the 04 was restyled. They're a real nice car, Acura did their homework on this one. They made the passenger compartment more comfortable, (higher roofline). My boss just got one, I was checking it out the other day. The car would be one hell of a daily driver: 270hp, 6spd or tiptronic auto. The dealer has been trying to talk my mom into one, but she's not impressed with the color choices. Go figure, the woman won't buy a car b/c she can't find one color that she likes it in.

I smacked around a old fart in a TL Type S. Beat him by 2 bus lengths to 125. This was before the cam.

Back when I had my 5.3L Sierra, I went toe to toe with one. Had a truck on him untill the stupid governor kicked in.
