Default raced a z28 last night in the wifes 2v GT

Ok so last night I was in the wifes car.(02 GT) I am still looking for me a LS1 car. Any ways I was at a stop light minding my own when a z28 LS1 car pulled up. I look over and was like damn I am going to lose. But to my surprise I hald in there real good. Off the line I pulled about 2 cars and by the end of 4th he was inching around. Really cool guy. He said his car had lid, cat back, and programmer. He said he thought he was going to beat me bad.I told him I thought the same thing. He said he did not start pulling back until about 80.he said at about 100 was when he was starting to go around. I am very impressed with the wifes car. Mods are cold air, clutch, weight reduction, cobra injectors, 3.73, drag radials, tune and short throw.

Auto/manual?

A 2.73 auto car would make this happen very easily, or a bad driver, or just an average driver losing traction with you driving the stang well with those mods. Nothing unbelievable here.

sounds like the camaro had a 6 speed and spun, but this story isn't too far out there.
a good driver can pull on/stay even on an LS1 through 2 gear in a mustang.
Nice driving

Very nice... a few bolt-ons, gears, and drag radials are enough to make a 2V fairly competitive from a dig. What weight reduction does it have done?

No doubt your drag radials and gears gave you that 2 car jump. That is tough to come back from. Just like I always say though, it is not always about Hp and torque...Diver mod, Traction, weight and gearing can be just as effective especially from a dig...roll racing is all about Hp though. This type of race removes weight, torque, traction and the driver mode from the equation.

Not suprised at all. Those 2v's are pretty snappy off the line and a geared, weight reduction, drag radial one is nothing to sneeze at. Good kill!!

The wife is modding it her way. She looked up headers and said they are not worth the money. Only a few hp gain. She has ordered a x-pipe and a under drive pulleys. I broke the shift on this race so a new will me order soon. We welded it back for know. But I am letting her do all the mods. She is looking at throttle bodys and a intakes for her next big mods. She is doing good in my opinion.

Nice kill, and yea a 2V off the line with those mods can be pretty quick. You were bangin' gears so hard you broke the shifter eh lol?

She should look at a 5.0 as her next big mod.

Good kill. I don't think you are going to get flamed. I could run someone in a zr1, but if he drives for **** then it's realistic to beat. Plus like said before your mods definitely help to get you off the line and get some early distance especially if the other guy is spinning a bit..
