Default Question SRT-4 vs LS1/Cobra

I've seen the B.S. on the SRT forums but on another forum I frequent a guy with an SRT-4 who only trapped 104 is saying he pulled on 2 LS-1's and stayed even with a Cobra. This is from a 40 roll in 2nd. I say B.S. All 3 would pull on an SRT-4 which trapped that low. Am I right?

104mph is within the vicinity of pre '03 Cobras and automatic 2.73 geared early LS1 Camaros. As Jamie said, anything can happen on the street.

Most likely not, but anything can happen.

He pulled an '03 Cobra from a roll? The only way that happened is if the Cobra spun horribly which is very possible if it's modded. I get sideways at 80mpm at WOT. Other than that,

Most of the stock A4 LS1's I've seen running, 2.73 OR 3.23 geared, run less then 104 mph. With that said, there are freak A4's out there, but they are not the norm. The Cobra was either NOT an 03 or an 03 that wasn't racing or missed a shift.

Either way, I'm with the other guys, anything can happen on the street. You just can't take a street win against an 03 Cobra and decide that your 104 mph trapping SRT-4 really can hang with an 03 Cobra, if you know what I mean

He stayed even with the Cobra but stated he reeled in, and pulled on the LS-1. I know anything can happen on the street but from a roll it should pretty much come down to physics if the drivers are decent.

I wholly agree...sometimes on the street you're not ready or there's a lot of traffic or you're mind is on something else. Can't say the SRT-4 is faster, just maybe had a better driver.

You can go 80 mpm in that thing!! Do you have the flux capacitor mod in it or something?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

With just a Manual Boost Controller, an otherwise stock SRT will put around 240 hp and 270 trq to the ground. Of course those #'s are nowhere near what an ls1 or Cobra would put down. But in the lighter Neon, it might have a chance to hang, but I don't know about pulling.

i ran 104mph bone stock in my a4 FWIW. theres also the possibility of dead spots with an a4. if he ran the ls1 from a 40 roll too and it was an auto thats why he pulled it, thats the bottom of second gear.

My car weighs about 1,000lbs more than an SRT-4 and it has around 350more hp. You telling me one can hang? You'd better re-think that statement.

My A4 trapped 105.5mph bone stock and that's a valid point about the dead spot on the stock 'verter.

I was saying that a 240whp/270wtrq SRT vs. a STOCK!!! 370whp/400wtrq Cobra, would be where the Neon MIGHT have a chance to hang with it, considering the weight difference.

I have no illusions that my car is anything other than what it is, a turbo Neon!

And I always pick my races accordingly!

I had some experience running an SRT. It ran quite good, but I don't think the guy is telling the truth about his 104 trap speed.

I knew what you meant, but you'll have to excuse UNIT, he ate too mant paint chips when he was a child!

You mean I wasn't supposed to eat those? They made nice little sandwiches along with some nice pepperminty paste.

JGUNNAR- I must've missed understood you. Like that little girl titty b. said, I'm a bit..."different".
