Default Genesis vs modded SRT-8 Challenger

I was driving the Genesis in that race... I got smoked.
Didn't even tree the guy

Anyway the footage is from our new Canon XF-100. It's a $3000 professional camcorder that takes images like anything they film sports with... unfortunately youtube cuts the nuts off of the image quality. Watch it in fullscreen 720.

Oh well.
Enjoi.

Nice vid and runs. That tiburon should go mid 13's if you can get some near zero DA's. What's it correct out to?

Yeah, I as thinking low 14's were the norm for the gen coupe. At least he is consistent.

Ju1ce, is that your car? I didn't know you had a gen coupe. Those things are pretty nice.

Good runs, i have a good buddy with a 2.0t genesis. Your 1/4 mile time seems dead on for a stock 3.8, i dont see you getting much more out of it without mods or tires. oh and when did you pick up a genesis coupe anyways?

Video came out great! Would have loved to make it up there, but there was no point with the G8 still being stock. Next Wednesday I'm off I'm gonna try to get up there.

did you need to mention the "shitty" DA so we feel better about not breaking 100mph?

:p

We are always 2-4da in midwest so not sure why it needed mentioning.

still, pretty quick lil car and good vid!

it has the 392 rims no doubt, but no badges. who would take off the badges of a 392????

I was just checking out a coworkers 392 a few minutes ago in the parking lot. Nice car, and its gonna be hard to distinguish a 392 from a regular SRT8 on the freeway... hopefully he does some mods so we can run.

The car broke 100 mph on it's 14.21 pass.

The DA at this track is probably about 1500 average, so 3500+ is bad. If your track is worse than that on average then it sucks to be you I guess...

By the Way I have a Canon XF-100 and a 7D and there is no way to get the full quality out of youtube the videos have to be compressed to much but this video still looks very good.

The calculators say 13.4 @ 104... My personal opinion is that at zero DA we'll see a 13.55 @ 103. Going to try for that in the fall.

Yeah it was 88-91 degrees and the pressure was 29.15... awful conditions.

Yes, in better air.

The norm at almost 4000 ft, yes.

Ju1ce, is that your car? I didn't know you had a gen coupe. Those things are pretty nice.
Not my car.

Dead on for almost 4000ft, yes. It'll pick up nice in the fall when we get some near sea level DA.

Got the camera ready for when you want to go

The car already ran a 13.9 @ 101 in 3100ft DA. It'll break 100 easily... but not in air that bad. This was the worst I've ever seen at the Valley.

We usually run in 1000-1500 DA, so when it's 3500+ it's BAD. I'm sorry about your luck, but lucky for you your Cobalt doesn't care what the weather is... it'll just turn the boost up to compensate.

Yeah youtube sucks and the file was 1gb so it was too big for Vimeo's free account. The XF100 and 7D are both bad assssss.

I'm really glad they made the Genesis. I always thought that the Tiburons (the real ones) looked great, but there was never a decent motor option so it wasn't a car that I would have ever considered despite the car's appearance.
