"Rice" vs 2 mustangs and a Camaro
Graduation was yesterday so I decided to have a few drinks and felt like having the gf take my car for a drive because I don't drink and drive. While out cruising we see a 94-98 Mustang GT(I don't know the differences sorry. Mods unknown) swerving through traffic. We hit a light and he takes off spinning so I tell the gf to punch it, since he had the jump and we have a turbo in 1st doesn't spool untill a good 15MPH, he got a 1 car lead until boost. Once full boost hit we had about a 2 full cars on him, hit 2nd and just left him standing still. Easily 5+ cars by the top of second.
2nd race is a new 2010 or so Mustang GT. All I know is that it is the new body style. Once again I don't know Mustangs. We are just crusing and he pulls up and rolls is window down and drops a gear to let me know he wanted to race. So I roll mine window down and ask if he wants to give it a go. He agrees and we go from 2nd at about 35ish. He pulls about half a car for the first half-second, then the turbo to spooled and by the top of second he was already back 1-2 cars and we let out after that. He kind of gave up, nice guy who gave the thumbs up.
Last race was with a 2000ish Camaro convertible that had Z28 stickers on it and a loud exhaust. We hit a light and he takes off very fast even spining the tires so I figured he wanted to race. Told the gf to punch it this time, she doesn't get the whole brake boost idea so he puts 1.5 cars on us till the turbo hits and we reel him in pretty fast. Just about even at the top of 1st maybe we had 1/5 car, by the top of second he was back pretty far, 4+ cars then we let out. He tries to race 2 more times and gets the same results. No thumbs up from him or anything.
Car: 1993 Eagle Talon
Mods:
Evo 16G on 25PSI, External wastegate and dump
E85 fuel tuned on ECMLink with Speed Density
ETS FMIC
Walbro fuel pump, 1150CC injectors
3" exhaust
HKS 272 Cams
Stock Motor (bottom end) and Auto Tranny
For reference it should trap around 117 in the quarter and do mid 11's.

Also are you 100% sure the car crankwalked? I know so many people who think their car has the symptom and it turns out it wasn't it.

My 600 traps 116-117 and the car sticks right with it. Bike runs 11.7's with a slow 1.95 60', this car can easily go mid 1.6's and probably high 1.5's. So my estimate isn't that far off.

Oh yea it was definitely crank walk. Something straight out of a DSM horror novel lol.

Jeff Bush's old car, him and Lucas did most of the work and the tune. Jeff said it was good for low 11's but I don't really feel it. He said on 30PSI he dipped into the 10's with some weight reduction (gutted the inside). But I would rather have a more conservative tune and not break parts.

It's going to be interesting to see what jeff's drag car does this year.
