Default Cammed SRT8 Charger vs (new) CTS-V

First let me say I hate clicking on threads that are just stories with no video but im about to give you one since he didnt want to run again there fore I couldnt record it. But I feel its worthy of a story since the surprising outcome.

So im on my way home from work this morning on a open stretch of I10 when I see a beautiful BLACK V in my rear view coming up on me pretty fast (im doing 65) he passes me up and I follow persuit. Im thinking to myself there might be a 10% chance this guy will give me a run being that he was older and had on a button up and tie and ****. I open my cutouts to hopefully get his attention, after all im in a damn charger and hes in a 70k Caddy. Well it worked we ride side by side for a while just checking out each others rides and I finally said **** it gave him that hand gesture that we all kno and to my surprise he was GAME!!! We were prolly in the 75-80 mph range when he nailed it (no three honk ****) I cant say he got a huge jump cause I was expecting it, but he did get a slight. Well up to about 130 we were neck and neck!!! Ran into traffic, otherwise I think we would have ran them up to 180.

This is amazing to me bc ever since gas went crazy high i took out 4* of timing and added 3% of fuel to be safe cause im running mid grade gas to try and save a little $. I mean my car traps 118mph all day long but thats with skinnies and a race gas tune. So I figured I was gonna get yanked, but honestly IMO if i had my normal 93 tune in there I would have slightly pulled him.

Guy was super cool and we exchanged thumbs up, but he didnt want to play again when i had my phone in hand ready to record.

Sedan V BTW

Alright I was hoping you weren't(lol). In that case congrats on the run. Unless someone is talking massive amounts of **** those real close races are always the best.

Yea to me those are no doubt the best...I think id rather take a loss by a bumper than a win by bus lengths....unless like u said the other guy is a big **** talker. lol

nice run! bone stock V2s are like 115-116 mph cars stock so seems like a dead on result.

^^^ +100. Those 1 car or less losses are what led me from stock to what I got now.

One of the new ones I saw at the strip last summer ran 12.2@119, so I can imagine you'd be pretty close with your car trapping 118.

Good runs!

This is not possible seeing as you were not driving a 2011 5.0 mustang.

Good kill op. your charger sounds like a beast and I'd take a lose to that without shame. Most I run into around my area are a catback at most and usually make for a quick puppy kicking.

I could have sworn the CTS-V's trap closer to 117-119.
Even C&D got an automatic sedan and a manual wagon to trap 119.

Nice kill OP.
