Default 03 Grand Am GT vs 87/88 Camaro

Yeah, I know the title is making all of you get your hearts pounding...

So i'm on the way to go to dinner with my g/f. I was driving her 03 Grand Am GT. It's actually not too bad for a girls car. I got it to run 15.8 @ 87 Anyway, I was at a stop light waiting to turn left, and these high school kids in this 87/88 2.8 Camaro are coming up the other direction. I was waiting for them to go straight through because they didn't have their turn signal on. Well, they turned right. This pisses me off because I hate people not using their signals, and since it was some dorky punk kids, I had a reason to do something about it.

So I make my left and these kids are swerving in and out of traffic and cutting people off. Well, knowing it was a POS 2.8, I figured i'd go mess with them. We get to another light and I stop right behind them on their ***. The light turns green and I keep right their *** until I get next to them. I see the front of the car rise up so I nail it. I zipped right past them with ease. My g/f kept saying that they must not have been racing because she thought it would take the GA out. Well, about that time, I see their head lights pick up again like they were going to try and do a ricer fly by. So I punch it and they didn't get past the rear bumper before I started pulling again. I took it up to about 110 and I flipped the four ways on

That's the best race i've had this year. I love trying to get people to race in that Grand Am. People underestimate it for what it is.

Yea the Grandma's, i mean Grand Am's aren't all that bad. I've got one for my rental while the t/a is in the shop having some body work done after a little accident. The car is pretty peppy, not like t/a style but i was surprised. Its a GT ram air or something, not too bad. Raced an escort, civic, lancer, intrepid, impreza 2.5, all of them got owned.

Ok so it's not an LS1 But you are still trying to race people in it and winning it seems like.

Good kill by the way

I'm telling ya'll those intrigues are the fastest of the granny car v6s. . . (no. . .a GTP is NOT a granny car) from a 35 roll it'll take a whole lot of cars. . .

If only they were RWD... actually, if they were RWD, they'd probably have a detuned LS1. GM should really get it's **** together already... a blown v6 is nice, but I personally guarantee you the guys with GTPs would rather have RWD to go along with it.

Well, I don't actually try to race people... only those who need their ego put down by a girls car

No problem with that. It's still a nice daily driver. It's just it's my g/f's car, so I like to rub into the losers that it's a girls car.

I was also just thinking...

The newer Olds Aurora was available with a V8... I need to find one to race with the GAGT

I've toyed with doin a GTP motor/tranny swap into my car, keep it as a daily driver, pulley it with a FWI and make it a little sleeper, but i'm having troubles keeping my bills paid up right now much less do a motor swap
