I have to agree with you. We have 87-89-91-93-E85 at about ever gas station there is.

California don't have 93 in most places at all. So they could say any one using it is racing at an unfair advantage. That it don't count cause they can't get it. Yet they can get E85.

Same thing with running with a faceplanted Tranny. That could be considered a race car in my book. Since 99% of people would not do that to a DD. And you see it mostly in track only cars. But more run E85 then have them in there car.

Hell for every one that runs up north in the winter months it isn't fair cause they get huge negative DA's that the rest of us can't get. So any thing you run from like Oct-March don't count since you most likely had a negative DA. And the rest of us don't ever see negative.

Some stations have 100 octane unleaded don't they? Out in Cali?

My LT1 car runs in the 10's all motor on 93 pumpgas, thats all we have here. We did have a few E85 stations here, but they didn't make it.

If I had E85 readily available here it would be in my tanks.

Those Stangs are WICKED, I want one.....but I picked my poison for a trackday car, I did it because I have knowledge of the 4th Gen Fbody and my buddies have them and we have parts lying all over the place for them. Only mod I have left is better seats.

But DAMN they are bad ***, A buddy has a FULLY loaded Cali Special, CAI, mail order tuner, GT 500 exhaust and thats it, its an automatic. Best pass so far is a 12.40@114 in 100% humidity and mid 60 temp. Thats with a 2.11 60ft LMAO.

There is a station locally where we can get 100,110 and 116 but there's only one and it says race gas on the pump so I don't think that counts. Best part about e85 is the sell it for 85 cents a gallon on earth day. I'll be stock pilling it.

I know, but some stations somewhere have 100 octane unleaded in the pump like E85.

What does it matter if a car is running e85 or racegas? Sounds like ricer excuses to me. It's easy to put racegas in, load racegas tune, change boost controller and run the car. Afterwards you flash back the pump gas map, change boost controller setting an put back in 93 octane.

I knwo this. Some others know this. But some people can't wrap their brains around this. Or think cause they can't get it like some of us on every corner it shouldn't count. 93 is about 3.39 a gallon right now. E85 is 2.45. And If you go to Wal-mart or H.E.B. and use a gift card to get it is 10cents cheaper off that.

I honestly could care less if they ran airplane fuel or wd 40 personally. If a car moves out, it moves out. If you have fuel listed as a "mod", than the car is already "modded" enough that it doesn't matter imo. It's all good, run what you can, when you can. We used to have 93/94 around here but now I'm limited to Esso 91. Race gas to me is not something available at the pump, any pump. Otherwise it's all just fuel, and we over pay for it

Yes you have a race car cause it don't meet the 87-89-91 then 93 of HiHO criteria.

The thing about race gas or e85 is that it's only effective in cars that have enough modifications to warrent it's use. You can see 50-100whp difference on a boosted car, but a stock NA car will yield only 10-15whp. Haters gonna hate and flaunters gonna flaunt. Just cause I can run racegas and more boost to see big gains doesn't mean it's any less of a car. I can still run 93 octane and push over 600 to the wheels so what does it matter. It would take the same amount of time or less for me to switch to my racegas tune and fuel up as someone that switches out their street wheel setup to slicks and skinnies. Either way, it doesn't make the car any less because of the means that they have.

I never said it doesn't count if you run e85, just that a mental note is applied to it if you run it.if you live in an area that carries said gas, you have an advantage that I don't and its likely your car won't run the same times or mph claimed if you were to run it here. when I see dynos or times from the east cost and midwest its pretty much: *results not typical.

So, its gonna be a mental note anytime someone is running something superior in some form or fashion? Hes got a bigger cam, he had spray, he had more displacement, he used boost, blah blah. The point of racing is using what you have to beat the other person. I'm a cheap bastard, I gut my cars, and it gives me an edge. Gonna make a mental note I have a tin can?

And just cause you have a worse DA dosnt mean someone with a better DA has an advantage, if you came down to 0 DA you would have the same "advantage"....
