Gtr 86k plus and 11.2 at 124 mph
Z06 76k plus and 11.4 at 126 mph
5. 0 33k plus and 12.6 at 114 mph

Your talking 50k cheaper and 10 plus mph slower

A gtr or a z06 would walk away from 50-150 mph that it wouldnt even be considered a race.

10-12 mph is simply massive. Most 7 psi supercharger set ups on a otherwise stock car only gain 9-11 mph in quartermile speed.

Most head and cam set ups on an otherwise stock car only gain 6-8 mph

Cam and bolt ons 4-6 mph

Bolt ons 2-4 mph

Point Im trying to make is just because some shop fully built a mustang to run a 10 second pass useing every bolt on suspension and tuneing/gearing/tire trick in the book does not mean its at all comparable.

You stated that your car was 450 rwhp with I belieave h/c and bolt ons and ran what a mid 11.

Was your mph compareable to the stock 124-128 mph trapps that the z06 and gtr run?



Maybe Im just crazy but I have to just cringe and chuclchuclke at the same time when even a GT500 is compared to a z06 or gtr... Let alone a 5.0.


Prove me wrong and show my lack of knowledge about these 5.0s. Show me some videos of bolt on and tuned 5.0s trapping 124 plus mph and hanging with stock gtrs and z06s on roll races.

Well get some facts right. I ran 12.1@114 with just tires. Made 464whp with just bolt ons and ran mid 11's. But since you want a bolt on being comparable here you go.

So looks et wise they can actually beat them. Which at the drag strip where I do most my racing is what counts. What point of trapping more if you don't have the ET to back it up. So hey feel free to go trap 125 or even 150 cause it does no good if you are still crossing the traps slower then me.

Now as above yes I stated I would take a C6Z or GTR over a 5.0 cause they are faster to start. But with just less then 10k invested I can beat them and still have money in my pocket. Cause when I get beat by one them it is expected but when I beat them people want to see what done to do it.

ohio we got some damn numbers yet, didnt you say mon? if you say 800 i will beat you lol, car runs great, his car just made a 10 second pass, he gets props in my book, thats something not to many have done,

I would rather have a fast car from a roll then dig specially if its a street car

Its interesting, Id much prefer a fast car from a dig then roll, very much so if its a street car, Id much prefer to go 0-60/80 with a smile and get a big speeding ticket then go 40-150 and go to jail...

Racing someone 0-60 or 80 is still gonna get you a street racing ticket, but ya you might be more likely to have the cop let you go tho

Trying to rap my mind around this... Please clarify what bolt ons you had to hit 464 rwhp.

Also please clarify if this was sae or standard or actual and the type of dyno.

What was your 60 foot and et as well as mph.


Ive seen many z06s and vipers at just 485-500 rwhp sae with full bolt ons and tune. These are 7.0 and 8.3 liters respectively.

You telling me your 5.0 with just the bolt ons Im asking you to list dynoed 464?

Im very skepticle. But will wait till you post your bolt on list before the bald face acusations or praise pursue

He was on e85 also killemall. Probally worth 15-20 on that car....maybe a bit more and probally alot more on a boosted car. Probally what the others are on in those vids too. Some may be on full race gas. For some reason alot of guys either won't include that mod or don't want to admit to running it.

On the email tune it made 653/562 with only 16-17 degrees of timing. But have issue with coolant tank. Paxton is sending me a new one so should have it in a day or two. Other thing is seeing some knock with 93 octane. So most likely just drain the tank and go e85 now.

OK got ya.

perhaps 420 SAE but maybe 440 standard on pump. Then throw on e85 gas or race and 445 sae or 464 standard to the wheels.

I dont know. just somthing seems un natural about everyone running e85 and race gas on AMERICAN cars these days

I remember the good old days in the 90s when I had a v6 camaro and my buddy had a v6 mustang. we would race 0-80 mph.

LOL that was a 15 second race and honestly it was more fun than raceing these faster cars. It was safe and we were always in control and hardly breaking he speed limit with little exhaust note to alert the fuzz.
