I can't believe the 4th Gen modded LS1 guys are not arguing this race?? I always thought the weight on the 5th Gen allowed 4th Gen modded LS1's to stay right there.

I did not expect this outcome to be honest. I thought the race would have been much closer.

Unless the difference with this race is an LS3 Camaro vs an L99...

I'm a 4th gen guy....I filmed it. What's to argue? The 5th gen hands down beat a lid/exhaust 4th gen.

His 5th gen went 12.9 at almost 111 stock. I think it could go 11's with the proper bolt-ons easily.

Things just happen, I'm not going to get out of shape over two cars I know little about. My ls1 with a lid/FRA trapped 109.33 on a 1000da day at Cordova, it also trapped 108.59 bone stock. More than enough to give a stock 5th gen a solid race, other 4th gens struggle to see 105 traps stock and sit in the mid 13s no matter what the owners try. Just too many variables for me to make myself look like a fool defending the 4th gen.

Agreed...it is on video. Can't argue with it.
Just did not think this was the norm based on other videos and Kill stories I have read/seen on LS1Tech..but just like S8ER95Z mentioned, to many variables.

I find it very hard to believe a stock LS1 F-body trapping 109 in the quarter-mile.

My 4th gen didn't trap 110 until free mods and driving the hell out of it. I was impressed by my fifth trapping 110 almost 111 bone stock. We weighed the car with 3/4 of a tank of gas at 3840. 03turbomach is a good driver also. I was impressed how the car pulled away from a 13.1x car. On the second run I power shifted for the first time through all the gears and man what a difference. Thanks for the props fellas.

I don't doubt it for a second, I had a 2.19 60ft, bogged launch and hit the rev limiter on my 1 to 2 and 2 to 3 shifts.

Ran 8.6 @ 85mph. 13.19@108.59

I believe Nineball here did 109 in his fbody stock as have a few others.

My time was no where near great, wish I could drive to be honest.

definetl hooks up good in stock form. You need to let some one else drive and watch it from behind

@92cobranotch next time up I'll have to watch Hio launch it. @Glennster that's impressive! I'm leaving the car stock until I can run some 70s or 80s myself.

its hard to believe, but with "the right track" it is entirely possible. A guy at a local track here trapped 114 and 115mph in a bone stock automatic 2011 5.0!

generally i see f-bodys trap 105-106mph

Went to the track at 300 miles and ran 13.2's @109 then 600 miles car ran 13.1's@110 then 3rd time was a charm. Its all in slipping the clutch and keeping the RPM up.
