99 Bolt on SS vs 2005-08 Saleen S281 S/C
I was on the Interstate in Mexico just cruising and I see this Saleen Mustang with S281 Supercharged badge on the fender. I passed him and slowed down to see if he would catch back up. Sure enough, he caught back up and crept up beside me on my right side. It was raining some, but at 50+ I didn't think traction would be an issue that much. I down shifted to 5th to see if he would down shift too, but nothing yet. A little further down he crept up next to me again and I'm pretty sure I heard him down shift and he had a smirk on his face. Our lanes in front of us opened up so we could get at least 110mph run in so I put it in 3rd and let him know I was ready to go.
Unfortunately, he never went which dissappointed me a lot!
I just looked on youtube to see what they had stock and I saw one dyno about 366 to the wheels.
With him being heavier and both cars being about the same power I'm positive I would have pulled him a car maybe 2.
What do you guys think?

Yeah i had a 7000 thousand dollar car i sure wouldnt race in the rain let alone a 50,000 dollar car. If it were an 05 06 you would win but i think the 07 had 475 horsepower. Dont quote me onthat but that woulda gave you a hard time for sure.

yeah i agree with everyone else...never in the rain...did it on the highway myself, and at around 100mph the rear end decided it want to be the front end instead...lolol...nothing like 3-60 in the rain at around 100mph to wake you up...i have no idea what i was thinking ...please don't try that, especially with our type cars....no win situation.

Driving in the rain is a no no!Racing in the rain is a HELL NO!You should be glad he didn't race cause you might not be here to talk about it if you did!I by no means am the safest guy/driver but I know what isn't a good idea!Hell,I don't even like to race when the ground is cold!

I lost it from a dig going against a buddy in his WS6 back when I was in college. Luckily didn't get a scratch on the car, just a mess in my pants & on-coming traffic headlights in my windshield. Smartened up and never again. Horsepower & cold surfaces don't mix.
Lost a family friend less than a week ago to high horspower and imperfect road conditions. 26 years old, worked for AUTOcouture motoring here in NJ, crashed his worked e90 m3 racing against a one of his coworkers, I believe. Died on the spot.
Memorial service was yesterday afternoon.
If you think you -might- spin, just don't do it.

I know it wasn't a good idea to race in the rain. Even if it were a little wet, but what are you thoughts on the outcome in dry conditions? Anyone actually race one? That is the first time I've seen a Saleen on the streets driving, even in the rain.
I haven't gotten a good race at all since I got the new tune. The weather sucks here in Norfolk. I think when I get back from deployment I will take the SS to the track and see what kind of times I can get out of it. My gf says high twelves. I was shocked that she even said that much. I asked where she learned that from and she said she was on youtube and was watching drag racing videos (again, SHOCKED) and she thought it'd be fun. I found one of those badass girlfriends that doesn't know much now, but is willing to learn. She even talks **** about mustang GTs. She said "you don't like wasting your gas or time on them" haha

A lot of variables to really know the outcome. We don't know if it was one the N/A Saleens or one the SC ones that can make up to 465hp.
And becareful you never know what them mustang GT's have. If you was cammed I would say you would be ok but with mods there are plenty of cars that will hand your *** to you.
