Arrow 668rwhp D1SC G8 vs LS3 H/C/I 99 SS *vid*

A couple of friends ran a couple weeks ago. Both are undergoing some minor changes so I thought I'd post this "before" race up.

SHANE: G8 GT [668rwhp]
Procharger D1SC- 10psi
Race bypass Valve
3 Row intercooler
227/243 .614/.624 114LSA cam
Ported L92 heads
Yank3200
Pacesetter LT's, Full 3" exhaust w/magnaflow race mufflers
ID850 Injectors
Alky control meth kit
ZL1 Fuel pump
20" 2010 Camaro SS wheels with street tires

ZEXLUMINA: 99 Camaro SS [458rwhp]
Forged LS3
PRC 237cc heads
231/239 cam
Yank SS4000 stall

little bit of weight out of the car

Both races were ~40-125 IIRC.

Wow nice runs, I figured the G8 would crip away a little. Maybe would have if they keeped going at a higher speed

1st race, we were coming up on a car REAL fast.
2nd race, a turn was coming up REAL fast (not really a problem or the G8 though )

Im confused how the race was that close. The G8 has over 200 more ponies to the wheels. Granted its heavier, it still shouldnt have been that close.

Weight. Plus the fact that the Camaro has that big stall that flashes to 5700 on the hit so it's always in the meat of the powerband.

G8 runs high 10.9x @ 127.7 IIRC.

This just proves that you can't always judge a race based on mods and numbers.

btw- I have a big HP Honda that will be in upcoming vids. RIght up your alley.

Last summer I think, I'll tell him to chime in.

Time flies. I barely remember last year it went by so fast with school and all.

Really close race! whats the weight difference between the two? Also dyno #s for the camaro seem low with that setup i would expect it to dyno low 500's. Was the camaro dynoed on a mustang dyno and the G8 on a happy dyno jet. Like others have said 668whp and only trapping just under 128 seems a bit slow. Lots of belt slip perhaps?

this x 1,000,000

friend's D1 cam only (stall and Lt's) G8 went 11.1 @126+ with 100 less rwhp. something not right.

Id have to agree with everyone else. Race was too close. I can see the LS3 making more power than advertised tho. Coulda been a heart breaker dyno like I use. On my dyno 650rwhp get a 4400lb sedan in the 130's all day long.

On another note when I read that the G8 was rolling on SS wheels I was preparing myself for one ugly sight, but man does it look BAD *** on that car!!! Looks better on the G8 than on the Camaro.

I hope a car that traps 127 walks a car that traps 119
